Peta reminds me of Madison Hubbell.
Donald didn't do much, but Peta was exquisite.
I did notice!
If William got 29, then Katherine should have gotten a 47. No way was he even remotely equal to her. He pretty much stood there the whole time while Cheryl danced around him.
Roshon is by far the best male dancer on the show, but he does need to try to be a bit more classic in his dances and tone it down a little bit. I really hope he gets to stick around, though.
Gavin... no he's not a dancer but he's just so damn likeable! And he's actually honest and so charming and adorable and grrr, it would be so easy to say 'he's the worst dancer and should be eliminated' if he weren't so damn likeable!
I must have missed something the judges saw with Maria and Derek. She seemed way too stiff, and they wasted too much time with him taking off his shirt and that kiss. She's a good dancer - let her dance!
I think Melissa's biggest issue is that she has no confidence in hold so Maks basically has to steer her around, which makes her look like she's scrambling. Tonight was by far her best dance IMO, and she looked great!! Though Maks' tan was a bit too dark, no?
And was it just me or was Brooke not quite as terrible as usual tonight? Threw me the hell off!
Maks' last post on twitter:
So... tanning bed, lotion, etc.???
Katherine was, by far, the best. I liked Maria, but agree, the kiss felt awkward and the shirt off was gratuitous.
Read, somewhere, that Derek and Katherine are together off the show.
Derek and Katherine??? Or do you mean Maria??
I love Katherine, she is so classy and the lines are fabulous.
Gossip is that Derek and Katherine have been seen hanging out together at the after show parties and some other places.
Yes, it seems that Derek and Katherine are getting close
ProTan and AeroTan are technically not sprays. Not saying he uses them, just sayin'. They also wash off easier than a booth/salon tan.
(I wonder if he realizes that nowdays admitting to getting a 'real' tan as opposed to a spray or bottle tan just makes you look like an idiot who doesn't understand skin cancer risk, not sexy.)
I didn't get the 9s for Maria and Derek's salsa. I kept comparing it to the salsa and Melissa and Tony did to the same music and it was a pale comparison:
Bingo - I was trying to figure out who she reminded me of, and that is it. Thanks!
Katherine's Tango deserves to be seen, again:
Really unique and different.
Her innate musicality and sense of rhythm/timing gives her an advantage.
She is determined to do her best and works hard to achieve it.
Gavin, likable though he is, probably should go.
The guy beat his babymama in front of their kid. What's there to like about him?
And yet folks are voting for Jaleel. Either they don't read the celebrity blogs/news or they don't believe it.
Am I the only one who thinks he looks high in his interviews?
There is something off about Jaleel for sure. He seems to have no awareness of how he is coming off to other people. That is unusual for a performer, as most (some notable exceptions) have very keen senses of the way people perceive them. That is not to say that all performers act on them.
Jaleel behaves as though he was known and thought of as a sex symbol or an incredibly talented artist. The man played an annoying neighbor on a sitcom for years. That's his claim to fame. It isn't as though we're talking about an academy award winning actor here.
Jaleel is hosting Total Blackout on SYFY starting at the end of April. Apparently, it is an extreme competition show with a Fear Factor in total darkness concept. I guess it is popular in other countries. Looks awful to me.
...Because total darkness makes perfect sense for a visual medium like television
For this Syfy cancels "Eureka." Why does this network exist again?
Maria & Derek; Melissa & Maks; Gladys & Tristan are all safe.
Who will be in the first ever Dance Duel....
Happiest for Gladys moving on, and for Motown week!
(Re: last night)
I only saved a few performances, but from memory, one of the judges, I think Carrie Anne, praised Maria for having a still upper body while shaking her lower body. I've thought from the beginning that she was being dragged around a bit and didn't notice this, but it could explain the scores.
I thought that Ballas' choreography this week was exquisite, and he and Jenkins danced it beautifully. It's amazing what he can create when he doesn't put himself front and center.
I don't get the Jaleel love at this point. Len Goodman scored him as highly as Roshan, which I just don't see.
For me the difference between Levy and Driver was that Levy had a strong persona as well as the tricks -- pretty gutsy since they had a big mishap on one last week -- while Peta's routine was PETA PETA PETA, and Driver was her quiet, accomplished sherpa staying in the background.
Louis van Amstel
Selena that dress is the wrong choice, you know that!
William & Cheryl - safe; Katherine & Mark - safe; Donald & Peta - safe
Roshon & Cheltzie - safe; Gavin & Karina and Jaleel & Kim in the first duel a Cha-Cha.
Jaleel is better, Gavin should not have started on his knees.
Safe - Jaleel & Kim - unanimous
Some quality music next week!
How long did they have to learn a cha-cha?
Loved seeing Sheila E.!!!
