I walk past this bakery every Friday on my way to my part-time job, but I can't say that the idea of a cronut appeals to me. Their eclairs though - yum.

Those don't even look good. Give me a Krispy Kreme any day. Or some maple donuts from Donut Den, a little local shop...hands down THE BEST donuts I have ever eaten.

I don't like Croissant and I don't like Donuts, so Cronuts don't appeal to me

I do, however, understand the queuing for novelty items part :shuffle:

In general, I don't like sweets :shuffle: so I'm pretty sure I don't want one.

Well, that article was worth it just for the pleasure of being able to read the term "cronut scalpers."

I'd be curious enough to give them a try, but I wouldn't line up for more than 5 minutes, and I sure as heck wouldn't pay more than about $4 for one.

I could fund a new pair of skates pretty quickly with cronut scalping. I imagine I could make a knock off and scalp those..... :D

I could feel my arteries closing up just looking at the picture. No way would I spend even $5 for this.

I hope she paid $20 for each one. That sort of stupidity deserves to be punished.

I would rather eat an almond croissant from the local French bakery or a custard-filled Krispy Kreme.

I remember when Krispy Kreme first opened in a mega-strip mall in Issaquah, Washington. It was in a complex with a Home Depot and a big grocery store. There were two+ hour lines to get donuts, and the police had to direct traffic, which was blocking access in and out of the parking lot. At least there isn't a big car jam-up for cronuts.

The big car jam-up is for Metropolitan Lumber on the next block.

It is NYC. Isn't the big car jam-up just anywhere and everywhere? Last month, it took me an hour and a half and $40 to get from 100th and Riverside to Penn Station in a cab on a Sunday. It was pouring, and I had gone shopping at Zabars so I had a suitcase and some bags, and I couldn't get out and walk/subway. $40 well spent not to get soaked while lugging bags.
