The discussion in the latest Ladies Survivor thread:
    http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/showpost.php?p=3615480&postcount=71
got me thinking. What are some of your favorite hilarious movements from skater's programs that look silly or inappropriate for the music? This isn't meant to bash skaters, it's all in good fun.

Sarah Hughes has an itch on her chin:

Plushenko has ants in his pants:

Betty Boop takes to the ice:

Plushenko is never disappointing when it comes to ridiculous choreography.
And more generally, every Mishin's chroeography has some WTF moments :

Right at the beginning here, the stretching parts make sense and are at least adequately executed, but the part where she spins around on two feet with her knees and hip joints slightly bent --

    I love this thread!

Here is one of my favourites: http://youtu.be/coDu5l-gl9Q
This entire program counts as a WTF moment, but the hip action beginning at 2:44 onto the faux-Yagudin footwork is just .

I totally love this whole performance by Claudia Leistner, especially when she gets her freak on at 3:10 (I'm too dumb to remember how to time cue youtube links but the whole thing is one big WTF in the best possible way).

    Nonsense! :)

This is for everyone who doesn't know how to do it:

    1. Go to the YouTube video of your choice.
    2. Find the point in the video you want to reference and press pause.
    3. Right-click the little video marker and select "Copy video URL at current time."
    4. Copy & paste the link and that's it! :D

    Easy as pie ;)

The first time I saw a skater grab her foot during a death spiral (I think it was Shen). She was stretched out in a beautiful position and suddenly she grabbed her foot as if she had an itch or something. I guess she got more points for doing it, but I never understood why. It wasn't aesthetically pleasing and it didn't require any special flexibility. That was during the period when skaters were grabbing their blade every chance they got. Thankfully that has abated somewhat.

Off-topic but that is the competition where Daisuke only managed SEVEN points more in his free skate that his short (71-point LP should say enough) and fell all the way from 3rd to last. I don't know if anyone has come as close as that point spread between a short and long program.

I can't remember which year this was, but I loved when Chenjiang Li made the devil horns on his forehead with his fingers. Was this in the Star Wars LP?

This move was not on the first version of this program. I love this program, but I agree with you, this move is ugly and I really don't understand why she added it !

I see your Carolina-Lori squat, and raise you this one:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tKCaW4muvDg&feature=player_detailpage#t=172s

Eventually that bit was dropped from Mirai's program but it seems as though she found a way to reinsert the squat in Carolina's program...what is it with Lori and squatting? The only effective one I've seen her use was in Michelle's Red Violin footwork sequence but that was a pretty spread eagle move...the squat she gave Mirai and Carolina was like, "well, there's the hole in the ground I gotta use..."

    Yes! Loved that: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=VLmWq-UdYw0#t=201s

Plushy after Lysacek wins the gold, nooooooooo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQGTGEu43Uk&feature=player_detailpage#t=333s :(

This is not really a WTF, because it makes perfect sense if you've played Super Mario Bros: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=CHLMYUpQ1vw#t=136s

Sandhu has done SYTYCD, why not Canadian Idol: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=DXICfHN1OpI#t=94s

Why is there no Leonova in this thread!?!? I thought she'd be cited by the 3rd post at least. :p I need to do some for her.

I don't mind Mirai's squat because her music is very energetic that requires a lot of sharp movement to match, so one of those placed in the rowdy Pirate of the Carribean isn't nearly as weird as with Carolina in the middle of her lyrical piano piece.
