I LOVED Mike Krushelnyski when he played for the Oilers in the 80s!
Woah! What an interesting thought! So far, according to this thread, we have Violetta, Jessica Dube, Sinead Kerr, Amanda Evora, Marcy Hintzman and Shae. I wonder.
She started following former Montreal Canadien/Detroit Red Wings Mathieu Dandenault on Twitter the other day...
Apparently, figure skaters are being announced today. This, posted an hour ago, on the BOTB site.
First figure skater officially announced: Violetta Afanasieva
Oh yes, of course...that's probably it!
I'm also annoyed by the way the show is releasing the names of the skaters...I don't like the "teaser" strategy AT ALL. Just tell us already.
Maybe Sandra and JR as a team...LOL
BOTB has revealed the 2nd figure skater: Sinead Kerr
Nice intro video with Sinead:
SOOOOOOOOOO glad for her!!
That makes two of us. I always wondered how she would do with someone who was a bit ... bulkier, stronger -- a Hockey Player!
Well, whoever Sinead's partner ends up being, he hopefully looks good in a kilt!
Next 2 hockey players identified to be Anson Carter & Vladimir Malakhov.
Next hockey player: Mathieu Dandenault http://www.cbc.ca/battle/blog/meet-botb-competitor-mathieu-dandenault
Amanda Evora confirmed!
Not sure if the full listing is out, but if not have confirmed this is the list of female skaters participating in the upcoming BOTB season:
Shae Lynne Bourne
Marie France Dubrueil
Oksana Kazakova - surprised and excited to see her added to the team!
I'm SOOOOO glad Shae is back! Wouldn't be BOTB without her! And M-F! What a fierce competitor! Happy to see Sinead and the rest (really). Kazakova? Who would have thought? This is shaping up to be exciting!
Three female dancers!!!!!!! Yipeeee!
Wow,Kazakova! And yay for Shae!
On another note, there are a lot of errors in some of the info they've posted. Almost every date in Dubé's bio on the site is wrong and earlier on Instagram they said Evora was a world champion.
I'm very excited that the Amanda news is finally out and I'm looking forward to seeing her compete on the show! It sounds like she's all ready having a ton of fun there and she specifically mentioned to me how much she loves being back on the ice. Hopefully they end up putting some of the performances on You Tube again since I live no where near Canada and that's my only way to see her! Gotta love those random errors in her bio though and I also got a chuckle out of the World Champion mention, LOL
Last 3 guys:
Grant Marshall: http://www.cbc.ca/ba...-grant-marshall
Brian Savage: http://www.cbc.ca/ba...or-brian-savage
Jason Strudwick: http://www.cbc.ca/ba...jason-strudwick
Super excited to root for our American girls and their hockey playing partners!!!! GO Marcy and Amanda!!! Wish we could watch/vote here in the US!!!! I see a trip to Toronto in the near future!!! Lol
Kazakova? Wow. Would love to see her again. I like the lists of ladies/hockey players. Variety.
Looking forward to this!!
Whooo!!! Love this show! Does anyone know how long the first show is? One or two hours??
According to my on-line TV guide, it will be 2 hours.
Here's some news about the first show on Sept. 22 as posted by BOTB on Facebook in response to a question about tickets: "Sunday's show is not a live show. It's a look back at the past seasons of Battle + you'll get to know this years competitors and learn who is paired with who!"
Jason Strudwick is an awesome guy! I'm very excited to see he's a part of the show this year.
I think I'm most excited about seeing her too! What's she been up to all these years?
Oksana Kazakova has now been announced as one of the 3 final figure skaters.
Here's an article where Kurt talks about more of the changes for this season: http://www.theloop.ca/showbiz/tv-gu...ng-pulls-double-duty-on-Battle-of-the-Blades-
More about Amanda Evora's participation is in the latest Inside Edge blog: http://web.icenetwork.com/news/2013/09/19/61093782/the-inside-edge-hamill-energizes-adult-skaters
Thanks for that link, Sylvia
The last two ladies, as "rumoured", have been confirmed as Marie-France Dubreuil & Shae-Lynn Bourne
Separate names with a comma.
