Will this be the year Shae-Lynn finally gets her due?

Only 1 more sleep ... I can barely contain my excitement!

How exciting to see Oksana Kazakova once again! I remember when she literally 'burst' upon the scene, partnering with Artur Dimitriev. She had a wonderfully expressive face, tremendou flexibility and competitive grittiness.

That may be so, but they had not yet been officially announced by BOTB. That announcement happened on Friday, with M-F and S-L being the last 2 announced.

I was a bit impatient & kind of rolled my eyes when I found out the opening show would be a retrospective of the first three seasons. But I have to say that I am actually enjoying it.

Totally enjoyed watching the two hour recap of the past 3 seasons. Brought back a lot of memories and allowed me to tell hubby a few of the back stories about some of the skaters and hockey players. I think it's actually a good idea to have a recap like this along with introducing the "new kids on the block".

I think I'll be in skating heaven ... and it begins in 7 days!

The "look back" show last night was really well done. I think I'll keep it so I can rewatch it again. So glad I watched it.

I agree on all counts. It was definitely worthy alternative programming to the Emmy Awards :D

Fervently hoping an ice dancer finally wins it all this season!

Looking forward to the new season and saying a prayer that any injuries will only be very minor ones. I was reminded just how dangerous this competition is, esp., when they replayed the scene of Marie-France being dropped on her head, accompanied by the look of absolute horror/guilt on Richer's face, as the big guy stared down at the crumpled girl passed out on the ice!

And which ice dancer would you like to win? Hee hee. This could turn into the Shae-wuz-robbed-the-last-3-times thread!

I thought it was a really interesting program. The narrative didn't always match the video - Tuffy Hough was shown a lot but hardly got a mention. It was amusing to hear Bezic justifying Shae-Lynn and her partner's consecutive losses - she must have had some feedback from annoyed fans :).

At first I was disappointed that the show was a replay of past seasons but it hooked me quite early and loved it. I was just wondering why they didn't mention Isabelle or Glenn Anderson though and the passing of Bob Probert.

I like the new format - not sure about the idea of judges' "cat fights" though.

Is Mark Ladwig playing some role on this show? He mentioned his "office" for the show and has been tweeting about it a lot.

I think he is one of the coaches; it looks like he's been working with Sinead and Grant.

According to my TV schedule, the past season recap show will be replaying on CBC at 3:00pm EST today i.e. now.

A tweet from BOTB, indicates there will be no phone voting. You must register for an account at their website, and earn votes throughout the week.

    https://twitter.com/cbcbattle/status/384322758982639618

ETA: All Canadians get one weekly vote as a guest. More votes are earned by solving puzzles etc. after registering an account. Voting ends at 5:00pm Tuesdays, and commences when Ron MacLean announces voting is open on the show.

This is true but if you register to vote in the US your votes will not count. This is what I was told by someone working on the show.

For reference, what's the spoiler policy for the earliest Atlantic time zone broadcast? Love that I can watch it live in HD this time!
