I loved that cougar vs 20 something show with Mark Phillawhatever. It was one of those epic trainwreck shows that needs to come back. Till his Mama got involved, I really thought that the older lady was going to "win" but once mama got a hold of him, no way was that going to happen!

I'm not sure why Fleiss isn't open to using Z-list celebrities like he did with Jesse Palmer, Prince Doggy Shampoo and Andrew Firestone. Ever since Brad 1.0, the only new person has been Matt the brit and that was an epic fail of the season so I guess we can blame Matt for all the retreds.

They did do an older Bachelor - Byron Velvick, US Open winning bass fisherman - he was about 39 at the time. The Bachelorettes were in their 30s, many of them 35+. The contestants got to vote on who would be the Bachelor between Byron and another guy. At the end Byron picked Mary Delgado, who had also been on Bob's season. They lasted 5 years. During that time, according to news reports, she was arrested for hitting him. Nice. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Byron_Velvick

In addition to the cougar show, there were a couple of seasons of Who Wants to Marry My Dad? or something like that. The dad and the contestant women were older. The dad's adult children were involved in the dates, challenges, and eliminations.

I miss Temptation Island and Bachelorettes in Alaska. Snark without a bunch of heartbreak and rose drama. I think last night with the 'historic' announcement and the letter pimping was their way of hiding a snooze season.

And hell no to Mama Beiber. He'd keep showing up! That'd be worse than BrotherDes. :scream:

    I like the Biebs :shuffle:

But yeah, I wish we still had Temptation Island. Right combo of cheesy and some actual feelings and issues. Not long ago they were rerunning it on cable, and it all came back to me - miss it!

I liked that one too! The logistics of it never quite worked somehow, but I remember the lead girl was interesting and there was always a lot going on.

OHMIGOD!!! I know they warned us. But when...instead of Catherine showing up...Chris Harrison did - and he had a letter. Well. I thought I was sh**ing myself THEN. But when Sean opened up said letter...and in it, Catherine said that she liked Sean. I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO DIE!!! Most dramatic rose ceremony EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

AND...I bet next season they will top this letter-reading moment. Somehow they do it every year, so it will happen, right? Ohmigosh, I think I better refill my heart medication prescription!!!

If I remember correctly Erin Brodie was able to get 2 million out of the show then went on to marry Dr. Will from Big Brother.

The shows I want to see come back:

    1. Paradise Hotel
    2. Temptation Island
    3. Young chicks vs Cougars ( I know that's not the name)
    4. Rock of Love with someone besides Vince Neill

Reality Steve has bio information up on some of Desiree's guys.

Looks like the casting went for (1) single guys with kids and (2) guys that just want to be on TV.

Should be a trainwreck of a season.

    And sad news from Fleiss:

No Bachelor Pad 4 this summer on ABC!

No idea if a lesser network will pick up the show or not.

Reality Steve doesn't think Bachelor Pad being cancelled has anything to do with ratings. That its more about ABC/Disney deciding that the raunchy nature of the show doesn't fit with the network's corporate ideal. My guess is someone high up in the ABC/Disney food chain didn't like it so it got axed.

I don't think the guys at the house right now vying for airtime are aware of Bachelor Pad 4 being cancelled as I believe they went into sequester before the news broke so we should be ok with lots of guys hamming it up for the camera, etc. They'll be crushed to find out later that it was all for naught. Well till they hit the reunion circuit and get to meet Sean's desperate rejects.

So is anyone going to give "Ready for Love" a shot:

    http://www.nbc.com/ready-for-love/

Its NBC's new dating show. Not sure if this has the train wreck potential of past shows but I might give the premiere episode on 4/9 a look see.

Oh, Sean has made the big time:

a lead story on TMZ about his "diva' ways on DWTS. Ha!

I sorta feel bad for Tenley as she seemed to be totally smitten with Kip. Him, not so much.

Oh well, Desiree's rejects will be hitting the reunion circuit soon so maybe they'll be someone for her in that bunch.

Speaking of Des' season, the frontrunner has been ID by Reality Steve. If he ends up not being the final 1, he's got to be the lead candidate for the next Bachelor.

Latest coupling from the reject pile:

    Brad and Ashlee!

So if they last, it will have gone something like this:

    Brad 2.0-Emily-Sean-Ashlee

And it would make Deanna's head explode if Brad did end up with a Bachelor girl, just not her. And yes I know she's married now but you know it still probably irks her to no end that Brad dumped her. Graham too!

Sean's season. She was his final 3 and gave him the cold shoulder as he walked her to the limo of doom. Then she sorta got after him at the "women tell all" for leading her on.

Ashlee is from Houston and with Brad branching out into the Houston market with his bars, they got to know each other and now are "dating".

I started it, but I got bored with the blind portion where he picks 3 of the 4 girls selected by the matchmakers. So I will watch the rest later. Plain White Tim is a cutie though. The guy who is the CEO of a hospital looks like good eye candy.

"Ready for love" did drag a bit with just Plain White Tees Tim on but I guess they wanted to go with a "star" and then bring in the two no names next week. Not to be cliche, but I do see chemistry with a couple of the girls. I thought for a minute that he and that one girl were going to do it on the piano!

Really? Rock Star who has had 10 or fewer women (unless he has extra fingers) was going to do it on the piano? Maybe there is something to watch after all.

Do you think he dumped the two women who sang or rapped (or tried to) because he thought they might not be there for the "right reasons."

Not sure why Tim let those two go. Could have been cause of their singing. I didn't find Opera girl all that obnoxious. The other one, I did and don't blame him for not choosing her.

Christina, the one that he has mad chemistry with is someone I wonder if he would have chosen if he could have seen her since he admitted that blondes are his preference and Christina is def not blonde.

Looked at Reality Steve's spoilers for Desiree's season. Sounds/looks like she has a good combo of handsome guys and tools.

Re Ready for Love, I have now watched through the recording studio segment. LOL, if the ladies didn't want to interrupt to tell Leah and Tim they could hear every word, why didn't they just leave the room? Looked like there were a lot of spaces in that place. So producer-induced.

Did anyone watch "Ready for Love" last night?

Like Ernesto alot. Ben is ok but seems sorta bland. And I hate that his ex is still in the running but got to get the drama in there!

Reality Steve is coming out with Desiree's final four soon.

He also says its going to be obvious who is the (potential) final 1 as she's been interested in really only one guy since the beginning. I just hope for her sake that the guy she really likes is into her too and doesn't pull a Graham, bowing out at hometowns. And I can't wait to see what manufactured drama Fleiss comes up with to make things less obvious. He has already decided to do:

have a guy leave because of a girlfriend at home and one guy will have major baby mama drama at home, making Desiree send him home. I think all the single dads get axed early on which is not a surprise.

I expect it's not really single dads getting axed; it's their exes that she wants out of the picture.

"Ready for love" has been cancelled.

If I find out who the "winners" were, I'll post. I read on NewFORT that it looked liked from the screencaps that Ben is with Lynsee so at least his annoying ex didn't win!

It was such a gross show. Bringing back exes who may have basically been one-night stands...women told to "brand" themselves like they were some product for sale...women eavesdropping on private conversations and NONE of them had the decency to tell those two people they were being heard.... Ready for love?? More like ready for the trash bin.
