Okay...I went back and read the thread again. no one said that.
6. Is there a mass market self-help book out there for people like me (Like You Just Don't Care: Stop That Emotional Empathic Whining and Get What You Want Out Of Life!)?
Frankly, I expected to get a higher score.
6. I’m so bloody normal....
No big deal, milanessa, but mayhap I could persuade you that rfisher and PeterG in addition to yourself, at least alluded to taking the quiz again/ changing their responses.
14 out of 33.
You're right, it's no big deal but you are delusional. I never indicated any such thing, rfisher didn't and you misread PeterG's post.
8 so I guess I'm not evil bahaha
A disappointing 14. My co-workers might disagree.
The questions about animal cruelty are right out of Psychopathy 101 though. I'd have to go back and re-read the questions but I'd say at least half didn't surprise me while the other half did make me go
7 out of 33. I'm disappointed.
Okay milanessa, I can't persuade you re the finer implications of those posts, so I'm not that "persuasive." And I knew it anyway, having taken the quiz. You did in fact suggest that another poster "take it again." Albeit, of course, not for the reason that apparently prompted your ire to my original post.
And yes, a bit of a contretemps in an entertaining thread. What was your score again, btw?
I'm an 8. I would probably do poorly in a post-apocolyptic world.
I got a 9. Not so after all.
I got 12
12 out of 33
9. I am not surprised. I'm so vanilla.
7 out of 33. And I'm not disappointed.
I think I might have scored higher on a narcissim quiz .
6 for me. Though of course I already know that I'm not a psychopath.
I had trouble with the 'rules were made to be broken' question. I am not a fan of rules in general and believe authority should always be questioned. But I had to 'disagree' as I would say 'rules were made to be examined', not necessarily.
Now, give me a questionairre about neurosis. . . . I might not be so easily absolved.
11 for me.
ITA Japanfan, actually I feel like that for a few of the questions... I suspect I would score higher if they use specific situational examples instead of broad theoretical questions.
I only got 11.
Oh dear, we got some cray crays up in herre!
I scored a 13, but wonder how I would score tomorrow.
Finally, a higher score than mine...then again, perhaps I should do something about that....
17... i'm surprised most people are scoring so low What's so psycho about me?
I got a 6, but I'm that lots of people here are disappointed in low scores....
I won't tell if you don't.
I got 4. You are safe from me lol
I've got 12. Hmm I'm more selfless than I've thought
14. Neighbors can call on me for cups of sugar.
The question about animals in pain ought to have a double triple quadruple upsets-me-greatly answer.
In a thread about psycopathy, you have by far the weirdest posts. Congratulations.
I got a 9. I expected a low score and am not disappointed
I scored 4, and that includes a positive answer on the skydiving/amusement park ride question!
Many of these questions could also apply to several personality disorders. Also one can be persuasive but if the arguments reflect the reality, it's one thing but if the reality is distorted in the person's mind, that's something else. I was surprised the test didn't seem to take that into consideration. That may be another reason for the high results. Of course somebody with such a problem may have trouble differentiating what's actually going on from what they think is going on and may not reply accurately to a question like that....
I think I may have encountered somebody suffering from a similar issue once (I'm not ready to say the person was a psychopath though). I wish I had understood what was going on earlier. because it was Nothing made sense and it was not amusing, to say the least...
Only in this thread? In any case, can't be any weirder than the posts of those posters my "weird" posts are in response to.
BTW, there is another "h" in spelling of thread topic... minor typo, I know.
Again, the further information after the quiz advises those with high scores not to worry, because some of the traits associated with psychopaths come in handy for other careers, so it doesn't mean you will or have to go off the deep end. But it seems many here wish for or anticipated having higher scores.
As I noted earlier, Noah Cross' comment to Jake Gittes in Chinatown is fairly insightful, if rather chilling:
"Ya see Mr. Gittes, most people never have to face the fact that at the right time and the right place, they're capable of ANYTHING."
You're way too modest.
