I love this show! Haven't felt this attached to a cop drama since Homicide.

Apparently, no one is watching - argh!

Seems like lots of entertaining shows are being cancelled or suspended these days: Prime Suspect, Pan Am and Community, to name a few.

    What's up with that?

I love this show - every episode I see gets better and better. It's unusual to have a cop show where a female lead actually dressed the way a real cop would, and a middle aged actress (albeit a very good looking one) is allowed to look her age and look realistically haggard by her very difficult job. Love the interactions with the other characters - she's a challenging character but doesn't come off as shrill or The Bitch or any other stock female character.

unfortunately, it's already been cancelled :wall: I agree with the comparison to Homicide!

I don't know who posted this but he/she made me think about this series. I like it but the poster thought it seemed like the series was dated as US/British detectives might have reacted with so much gender bias in the 90's when Helen Mirren had the role but would not happen so easily now. The fact that she is a woman would not rattle so many cages. I think I agree. But I do like the show.

I like the show. I am mad at a friend for talking me in to watchiing it, as it is on hiatus or gone. I really enjoy the ensemble of all the actors and their interactions. I only saw the British Prime Suspect once, so I am not comparing. I always have liked Maria Bello and Aidan Quinn. I hope the show comes back or gets picked up by another network. I think the cast is really good.

This is my favorite show this season. And of course it's all but cancelled.

I like every single member of the cast. The ensemble interactions are the best by far since Homicide and Maria Bello kicks ass all the time.

I'm really sad to see this go. Stupid NBC.

Bryan O'Byrne (more or less her nemesis on the squad) is my favorite character because he is so conflicted. I should detest this guy but I don't. And kwanfan I stand corrected.

I also watch it & enjoy it very much. I didn't know it had been cancelled. NBC certainly knows how to cut off their nose to spite their face.

I read last night that's it's in "all-but-cancelled" status. they'll be running the last 2 finished eps in January. I did notice that the audience fort he show has been growing, but I think it's probably too late :(

I've been watching on hulu all week and I'm :wall: that such a good show didn't find an audience.

I watched one episode and wasn't impressed. The positive comments here make me want to give it another try only I hear it's probably going to be cancelled. I lurved the British series with Helen Mirren. Must see TV for me when they aired here in the U.S.

I have seen all the episodes on NBC - are there additional episodes on hulu or the same ones?

It's just the episodes from the whole season. I finally got caught up last night. The "Norwegia" comment in the Colorful Mosaic episode was brilliant. Seriously good writing... :wuzrobbed

My favorite was the Augie, Calderon, Evrard interaction in "Underwater" about who sounded more realistic as a possible drug distributor. And the Augie, Calderon, Jane sprints trying to destroy the husband's alibi in "Bitch". And Augie and Calderon discussing Augie's wife. And Augie and Calderon chasing the guy in the store.

Needless to say, I love Augie and Calderon.

I also love Evrard's very authentic use of Spanish slang. From pariguayo to cocotazo, they get it completely right.

So true - and Norwegia was funny.
To me Jane and Evrard have a nice chemistry. Evrard seems the most respectful to her, and he recently announced he was separated. Not trying to ship them, but the actors work very well together. I really appreciate the ensemble of all these cops. The other female that Duffy was flirting with I think was to become a regular, not sure about her, but all the guys and Jane are great.

    Augie and the porn

what I loved most about the Norwegia line is that it just happened, and if you weren't listening carefully you wouldn't catch it. The writing works so well because they play it totally straight.

Good point - and another thing that is great about this show. I love cop/detective/mysteries (tv, movies, books). When they are interrogating someone on Prime Suspect, I feel like we get to see more of their approach to each interrogation, other than the good cop/bad cop used so many other shows. Without the show being boring, I feel we see some real police work.
