This is surreal. To have so many high profile plane accidents in a relatively short span of time (5 months) is just sad.

It's confirmed crashed, but it doesn't say that it's been located.

This has to be the worst year in modern aviation history. So unbelievably sad.

    and :(

And airlines are struggling already, I wonder what that'll do to them, in general.

Geez, what a horrible set of coincidences for the aviation industry and what a horrible tragedy for those on board.

My condolences to the victims and their families. Sounds like it went down in bad weather but this is the fourth major air disaster this year alone!

Actually hijackings & crashes (that kill all on board) happen 5+ times a year very frequently. Here's a list on wiki.

I am watching the CBC National. They are interviewing Mamadou Zoungrana, a man who left his home of Burkina Faso to come to Canada in 2012 to forge a new and hopefully better life for him and his family. Finally, after two years apart, his wife and his two children can come to Canada to be with their husband/father. Mr. Zoungrana loses his wife and kids in the crash. I can't even with this sadness the past two weeks.

This is the third plane accident in the last week. The second one being the Transasia one killing 48, which normally would have been big news if not sandwiched between two even bigger accidents
