    It's Queen night!

Contestants will sing one song by Queen; the other is of their own choice.

Jessica starts off with Bohemian Rhapsody. Judges will no doubt slobber all over it, but for me it was

    Bore-Me-Again Rhapsody  .

ETA: Spoiler list of song choices for tonight (songs only, it doesn't list who is singing what, but it's fairly easy to figure out)

Not a good song choice for Jessica, at all.

I enjoyed Skylar's performance and voice, I wasn't watching, the ending sounded messed up. J Lo got "goosies."

I only caught part of Skylar's performance, but what I heard sounded miles better than Jessica.

The only two I'm interested in hearing tonight are Elise and P2. Hopefully they won't screw up (or get screwed by song "choice").

Joshua - "Crazy Little Thing Called Love"

This is a hot, indulgent, crappy Cruise-Ship rendition if there ever was one :scream:. If he gets a Standing Ovation for that I will put a shoe/brick/bowling ball through my TV.

Joshua sounded very, very good, I'm not watching tonight, only listening.

Oh-Em-Eff-Gee. I just read on FORT that he did in fact get at Standing O from the judges yet again  :blah: :wall: .

I'm starting to think Joshua is the most over-pimped contestant in AI history.

I don't watch this every week, but this blonde girl is a 1000 times better than the first two. Is she the weekly B2 holder?

I did not like Joshua. At. All.

Hmmmm....judges do not want this girl to make the finals do they? Too bad.

This leaves Fat Bottomed Girls, Save Me, and I Want It All as the songs for Hollie, Elise, and Philip. Any guesses?

That's Elise - she freaking rocks, but keeps winding up in or near the B3 each week.

The blonde the judges are bussing is Hollie.

....And I missed Elise (the TV is in the other room) :fragile: :wuzrobbed:. What did she sing? And how did she do? From the little I heard the judges say, it sounded like she did well.

She did I want it all and did a very good job with the song. Frankly, she, Skylar and Philip should be the final 3. Philip with a good backing band can be as successful as Daughtry or more so. He should just flip the judges off and wait till he can get off this show.

Thanks, rfisher! :) ITA that those three should be in the finals.

I'm going to bail on posting till after the show so that I can watch the second hour without having to run back and forth.

Not me. Could the interview with Ryan have been any more manipulative? She hasn't seen her dad in so long? She's from San Diego for chrissake, it's a two hour drive from LA.

IMO Jessica and Joshua are highly overrated. They turned Phillip into a scotty mccreary with the facial gestures and awkward dancing. He could be so much more.
Elise, Skylar and Phillip should be the final three. But I bet it will be Skylar, Joshua and Jessica.

When Phillip auditioned in Georgia, he already had the facial gestures an awkward dancing. It is who he is. Phillip is pretty popular.

I hope the final three are: Phillip, Elise, and Skylar, but I think Elise will be voted off before then. I hope I am wrong about that.

I agree - go Elise, Skylar and Phillip. But I bet they will not be the last ones standing. Speaking of standing - the judges standing constantly for Joshua is just ridiculous. I am really not liking the judging at all this year. Jimmy is the only one worth listening to - and maybe Stephen because after all - this is entertainment.

Actually with this song - a dave matthews? one - he is not doing the gestures and awkward dancing. This is how I remember him. Oh dear, Jennifer is not getting "goosies"

I hate for a guy to win this year again but hey if it's Phillip Philips I can deal with it. He's just a star to me and again shut Up Jennifer!

The Standing O's for Joshua are beyond absurd. I can't help but wonder if they do that whenever he takes a leak :shuffle:.

Jessica's second song was the best she's been since the season started, but it can't make up for her butchering of BoRap. That was just criminal.

Elise kicked ass on both songs, but of course the Three Stooges have that bus aimed right for her and Hollie. About the latter, the tinfoil hat wearer in me has a sneaking suspicion they did that to avoid the voter backlash that resulted in Jessica being voted off two weeks ago.

I didn't miss Colton one bit.

P2 does Dave Matthews, and the judges panned it?

Also, STFU judges about picking obscure songs - Elise *slayed* that Hendrix song; she took a big risk, and it worked (songwise) for her. My concern is that the Tween contigency won't "get" it and will vote for Hollie and that Miley Fcuking Cyrus song simply because they're familiar with it.

If anyone wants to vote for Elise, her numbers are 1-866-436-5704/5710

P2 doing Fat Bottomed Girls? I've never seen a contestant use a song that was covered by the group in a medley. Speaking of the medley, that was painful. And unnecessary.

I am not fond of The Climb but IMO Hollie was the best of the 2nd round. That's not saying much because everyone kind of sucked. WTH was P2 singing? Simon would have called that indulgent nonsense. I hated it. I would call round 1 for Joshua but he ruined it by "taking it to church" the 2nd half of the song. He annoys me.

ETA: I don't mind obscure songs, usually they are obscure only to Randy. But I didn't like Phillip's performance.

The first round was essentially a wash for me- they all did about as well as they could, and Elise and Phil were my personal faves.

Second round I'd say Elise, Hollie, Jessica, and Skylar did great, Joshua was fine and Phil did kinda terrible. I applaud the song choice originality......but this didn't work like it should have. Maybe a different DMB song with more melody would give him more to work with. I have no idea who should go after tonight, I just know I never want to see Elise, Hollie, or Phil go home.

I never agree with y'all on anything reality-TV related!

Love Jessica. Love Joshua. Love Elise. My ideal F3.

    Like Skylar and Hollie.

Phillip is just...terrible. And no he will not be a star. I smell another Lee DeWyze if he wins, and that's that! :)

    ^^^This X 1,000,000.

If either of those two are sent packing, I expect the one brain shared by Three Stooges to have a huge aneurysm*, the upside of that being three new judges] stooges at the table in the future.

*No offense meant to anyone who had or has friends/family who have suffered something so awful.

I'm so sick of anyone on AI doing Bohemian Rhapsody....Jessica's version was terrible, worst performance of the night by a mile. I just kept thinking about how Constantine and Adam did it 1000x's better.

I actually thought Joshua's second standing O was well deserved. I love his tone of voice when he's not going over the top. His first performance however, was a hot screechy mess. :scream: It makes me so angry that someone like Joshua is getting NO guidance from the judges. How is he supposed to grow as a performer? The overwrought praise week after week is doing him no favors.

Elise was :kickass: tonight and I wanted to punch Randy and Steven tonight. Usually I DVR Idol so I can FF during the weekly judges bussing of Hollie and Elise's performances, but I made the mistake of watching it live tonight.

I actually loved Hollie's Miley Cyrus song, and thought it was really smart. She sang it better than the original artist, and she gave herself the opportunity to connect with the tween voters. She really connected with the song, and that's what really made the performance enjoyable for me. As much as it's cheesy pop song, I really felt that Hollie connected with the lyrics based on her AI experience.

I thought Hollie was terrific tonight. I'd like to see Jessica go.
