Is it a Motown theme? I thought it was a more general R&B theme.

Yeah, I think it's general R&B. I hope somebody picks Aaliyah. Even though I didn't think she had a great voice, I liked a lot of her songs. "Try Again" would be good and I don't think it has been done on the show.

I forgot it was R&B night. I may have to run to Borders for a bit. If I can get off this couch....

I got seven. :shuffle: But I have a struggling student who I think would enjoy The Hunger Games, and all library copies are out.

Starts slow, grabs you about half-way through. And then you have to wait until September for part three. :drama:

    Song spoilers:

Siobhan Magnus – “Through The Fire”

Casey James – “Hold On I’m Coming”

Mike Lynche – “Ready for Love”

Didi Benami – What Becomes of a Broken Heart

    Tim Urban – “Sweet Love”

    Andrew Garcia – “Forever”

Katie Stevens – “Chain of Fools” by Aretha Franklin

Lee Dewyze – “Treat Her Like A Lady”

Crystal Bowersox – “Midnight Train to Georgia”

Aaron Kelly – “Ain’t No Sunshine”

    Katie = *facepalm*

And I feel pretty comfortable calling this right now:
    Kris Allen > Aaron Kelly

What was he thinking choosing that song? He's either really stupid or really cocky. Or maybe he just thinks the judges will be into him no matter what, which may be true, but I still think it's stupid.

I wonder what it is that Crystal is doing that is so different from what she's been doing. I'm very curious.

Usher is one of the greatest performers ever? And looking at the song list, I only know like three of them.

Siobhan singing something like "Through the Fire." I've never heard this song. It sounds like some cheesy 80s movie inspirational ballad. zzzzzz

    And she's missing notes badly.

Just when I think this show can't get any worse. Siobhan sings every other note is shrill or flat. Oy.

Siobhan is way off key through one of my favorite songs, Through the Fire. Way, way off key. The scream thing helps a bit, I suppose.

I never noticed how nasally she can be and I'm over the screaming. Next.

I really like Siobhan but this song makes me want to read a book. And except for Crystal, it's all downhill.

Siobhan loses it tonight. Not her best performance at all. Hopefully someone else bombs to keep her in the mix

I suspect there's a pretty good chance of that with this group.;)

I wouldn't be surprised if her performance was still one of the top two of the night (the other top of course being Crystal), unfortunately considering the weakness of this group. I don't think she has anything to worry about.

Too much time for critique. Let's move along, it wasn't good.

I was surprised Simon pronounced Siobhan's name incorrectly.

after making her sit through all that rehash, I'm tempted to vote for her just for not being in tears.
