I just listened to Ruben on youtube, to compare him to Mike and I'm afraid Mike suffered in the comparison.

Andrew sounds like he is singing this in too low a key, to avoid the high note. It makes a lot of his lower notes sound swallowed.

Andrew plods through I Heard It Through the Grapevine. Why would he sing this? Maybe the "chicks" can fill us in.

    Oh God, horrible from Aaron.

I generally don't like to hyperbolize, but I genuinly think this might be the worst group of finalists in AI history.

:duh: Kara - you guys confuse the heck out of the contestants and then wonder what happened to them.

I think Kara might have a point that his big moment may be playing with his head.

I didn't think Andrew was as bad as the judges made him out to be, but I have to admit I wasn't watching just listening.

Buzz and Kate were awesome dancers last night compared to these people as singers.

Katie is confident singing Big Girls Don't Cry. Her voice is very strange....it's all out of tune. Maybe she should lower the whole thing.

I'm sorry, but I thought that was hideous. She was completely out of tune the entire song... and I don't think she even realized it. :scream: At least Paige was self-aware enough to know she off pitch.

I'm chiming in a little late, had to run to the store for ice cream. Crystal blew me and my bf away! She was already my favorite but I loved that so so much. If I didn't know any better I would have thought she was the guest performer this week, she is head and shoulders above the rest and looks like a professional out there. I still LOVE when she talks to the judges. She can respond without sounding bitchy but you know she is jabbing them in the ribs just a little. I am so curious to know what she has planned for next week!!

Katie sang almost a half-note flat during that entire thing :yikes: :wall: . She's definitely got power behind her voice, but when it's not on-key, it's piercing and extremely unpleasant.

Casey James singing Huey Lewis and the News? :yikes: :scream: . I despised this song back in 1985. I don't think he's going to change that.

Should not try to be Huey Lewis wanna be. Doesn't work.

This week seems to be singing in the shower week. You think you sound better than you do.

Casey does what you'd think he do with Power of Love, nothing special, overly controlled, doesn't let it go. At least SCREEECH the word power.

It's a testament of how bad everybody but Crystal was that I sort of like Casey. It's a sad, sad night.

Last years bottom 4 would have a decent chance of making the top 4 in this group.

Casey- I never really liked this song when Huey Lewis sang it, and you sound just like him- so, nah. It sounded just like the original.

Ellen is friggin' on crack if she thinks that was the best performance of the night :blah: .

    Thank you, Simon.

Compared to the rest of the performers I've seen, that was actually pretty good.

Although I don't know what Ellen's smoking with the "best vocal of the night" comment. Umm, Crystal?

Kara, that's really, really, really not true. Casey is not on another level.

Casey and Huey Lewis have something in common, neither has more than a one octave range. :p
