Aaron struggles through I Don't Want to Miss A Thing (no jokes).

The only argument here is who is giving the worst performance this week.

I don't know if it's the song choices, Ellen's lack of judging prowess or what, but to date, this has been the most mediocre bunch they've had. Sorry.

    Randy's Honesty Pills wore off.

I thought that was a boring mess.

I think I'm officially into girlcrush territory when it comes to her.

I would pay to go hear Crystal and Siohban sing.

Crystal once again blows everyone away with Bobby McGee. I'm not even sure she was at her best. She's not going to be "allowed" to do this every week.

Ellen, I think she's bored, which is not good either.

Loved that from Crystal. Everyone else has felt amateurish, but that performance was anything but amateurish.

Crystal is not a concert singer/entertainer. She's a low key singer who makes you stop what you're doing and listen. She would be awesome in a small intimate venue or as a recording star.

I like Aaron better if for no reason than Archuleta just seemed so pre-packaged.

She'd be awesome in a bluesy club after a splif or two.

I see Crystal in a coffee shop or small club - down on the floor with other artistes

Big Mike singing one of my favorite songs.

True story - when my oldest was in preschool the teacher asked the kids to sing a favorite song. So son sang "when a man loves a woman" Cracked the teachers up.

Michael sings, predictably, When a Man Loves a Woman, which he sings really well, but he's going to have to change up his choices.

Mike started off brilliantly, but I don't know if he quite sustained it towards the end.

Mike has one of the nicest tones to his voice since Ruben was on. He looks quite natural on stage too. I like him.

He and Crystal should go far in the competition.

I feel the opposite. I think Archie genuinely was shy and uncomfortable. I think Aaron is the most pre-packaged, pageanty person in this year's contest and I think he's very savvy, confident, and phony. In one interview, he talked about how he keeps the mementos people have given him over the years in order to help him on his "journey." He's more packaged than even the Jonas Brothers.

He screams it very, very loudly. But, I don't think his "people" hear the scream.

Michael Bolton had more soul in his cover of that song than Michael Lynche did... there's just something so wrong about that.

When I made the Archuleta comment I was mainly referring to the voice. Even though I was never much of an Archie fan, vocally he was miles ahead of Aaron.

Perhaps he was, but the rampant tales of his stage parents behaviour is AI legend. I haven't heard anything about that being the case with Aaron (so far). ;)
