I liked Paul a lot more than the judges did. I liked the strings around him too.
I thought Paul sounded awesome in the intros, but I think Jimmy effed it up royally for Paul, there were some absolutely brilliant moments there, but I'm not sure there was enough moments in that song, and the key of the song and falsetto were just a bit off for me. I think he could be in Jeopardy tonight, he has the voice easily, but I'm not sure he's getting the right advice.
Jimmy Iovine... please just go away now, you're royally effing this up for everyone.
I just love Eleanor Rigby. I thought he did a decent job, but I love that the judges are giving constructive criticism.
Did Mariah Carey just completely diss country music by telling Paul that his voice is too good to do country? lmao
Why can't Paul do a country twist on a Beatles song? Kree did and she did it fabulously.
Okay I thought I listened closely to the judges, but I must have tuned her out. Did she really say that?
If Nicki calls someone "Ladybuuuuuuuuuuuuuug" again, I'm gonna hurl....
Mariah told Paul he should work with a big time Pop producer because: "I just never understood the country thing with you...I think your voice is so amazing, take advantage of it....do something big"
Good grief. I'm sure Keith loved that.
Did Angie start off the song almost singing the 2nd verse? I couldn't tell but it seems like there was a quick stutter. Good recovery so far, if so.
Angie just sounds like she is already in the studio. Hard to explain but her natural voice sounds produced to a degree. It is odd but makes it VERY easy to imagine hearing her on the radio.
I agree. Mariah felt very condescending to me. The whole thing was uncomfortable. Also, dissing Country as a genre pissed me off.
I don't know what to think of Angie's performance. I love her voice so much, but it almost felt musical theater to me. It's probably the power of suggestion from the intro. video.
I don't know with Angie... She's marketable yes, but her voice in this top 10 is in the middle. It's by far not the best. I found it inconsistent. I'm meh on her.
What did Nicki say that they bleeped?
I very much dislike sob stories and hated Danny Gokey. However there is something about Lazaro that tugs at my heartstrings. I wouldn't vote for him and I don't think he's the best singer but his reactions to the criticism just makes me sad-faced.
I thought Paul did ok, better than last week. Candice and Kree best of the night so far, IMO.
Theo Tams did a spectacular version of this song on Canadian Idol, but Devin is SLAYING it.
Devin has a beautiful and pure voice but I don't think I want to listen to more than two or three songs from him at a time. It tends to get boring and starts to sound the same.
NOW what did Nicki say? Apparently they can bleep it.
Devin improved so much from last week. (Wasn't he the one who sang Temporary Home?)
The censors must be really focused when Nicki is judging.
I think she said penis.
Who the heck was Mariah talking to when she was shouting out to her Lambs??
Breathing is a magic trick. Really Jimmy??
Paul doesn't sound country to me even when he's singing country songs.
I don't get the judges love for Angie. I keep waiting to understand it.
Plus she's got a dated look for someone so young - like a starlet from an 80s slasher flick.
Well that was definitely country from Janelle.
Tonight is the first night Janelle didn't drive me nuts. It was subtle, still a couple of pitchy things here and there but I think that's the best she's done this far.
If we are judging based solely on performance tonight Lazaro should go home. He was terrible. I think Paul could also be in danger too but I still hope he goes through because he does have such an amazing voice.
80's is right.
Am I watching the same thing, or hearing the same thing, as these judges> Janelle was awful, again. Yeah, for HER it was better than normal but it was still near the bottom of the pack tonight. Only Lazaro was vocally weaker. The field is so strong.
Mariah's rabid fans refer to themselves as her Lambs. I have no idea why but I see it on message boards and such.
No I think you're right. She did improve (I wouldn't say she was awful) but she's not at the top of the list for me. I don't understand Randy.
For me Candice and Kree were at the top.
