The two things that continue to amaze me every week are:

    (1) Teams that do not read the clues in detail.
    (2) Teams that are incapable of reading a map.

I realize there's probably a lot of adrenaline pumping and teams are just trying to move as quickly as possible, but the amount of time that teams are losing not doing the above is blowing my mind. When Jet and Dave kept re-filling the coal cart last night thinking that was the problem, I wanted to scream! And the girls asking for directions and then STILL not having any idea where they were going? AAARRRRGGGHHHH!!!!!

I keep thinking that if Craig & John had been picked they'd be kicking butt right now.

Yeah I'm surprised they weren't in a way. The same production company does Battle of the Blades and countless skating specials in the past going right back to You Must Remember This - in other words they know skating, so I thought Craig and John would be a slam dunk for this.

Sad about Kristen and Darren. Impressed with the doctors building a raft though! Can't wait to see them join the Mounties. :)

WOW, not real happy with the ending but then I'm liking almost all the pairs -- except the sisters. For some reason they just get on my last nerve and I don't know why. They aren't THAT annoying and yet, they bother me.

Kudos to the doctors for managing to beat Hal and Joanne when both teams had to do both road blocks -- particularly he-doctor (his name escapes me and I feel too lazy to look it up).

Quebec next week and again, knowing French seems to be an asset in that province. Le sigh ... (Quebec = French, TROC (the rest of Canada) = bilingual; go figure).

Tuned in tonight for the first time. The lady doctor is so annoying. So are the sisters. Sorry to see Joanne and Hal leave compared to those first two mentioned teams.

Since some folks thought that Hal and Joanne should not have been cast in the first place, I'm a bit relieved that they've been eliminated and will no longer be a "factor". I thought it was a good move by the Tims to U-turn them.

I was shocked that Holly & Brett (the doctors) were able to do the football tasks so quickly, especially since they've freely admitted to not being at all athletic and she claimed to be so physically exhausted.

I too am bothered by the sisters, despite the fact that they're from Ottawa (where I live) I can't really bring myself to cheer for them.

After a so-so start, Jet and Dave make me smile (and sometimes shake my head).

I'm enjoying the Canadian race so far and would be happy with almost anyone (except the sisters) winning.

Is it just me, or did Jet and Dave come across as major league douchebags last night? They made some of the American teams we've seen look downright humble and insightful. :blah: Oh, and I just checked the Amazing Race website...and Jet's last name is...Black... (And what's up with Dave's hair?? It's almost as painful to look at than it is to listen to three seconds of the host's high pitch squeals! I think it's even worse than some of the birdnests we've seen on top of Daisuke's head!)

Yes, they were a great team. It was very smart for the Tim's to take them out. Jet and Dave knew that Hal and Joanne were stiff competition, but chose to do nothing...leaving the dirty work to the Tim's. If I was playing with somebody, I would say, "we ALWAYS have to use the U-Turn". It doesn't matter if you are doing well in the leg. You have to look at who is most likely to beat you at the very end for the big prize. And if you can U-Turn them now and get out the big competition early, that's smart game play.

Vanessa & Celina have gotten the villain edit. It's just that they're not giving the editors much to work with! Although with last night's episode, they did show one of them laughing at another team's joke that was kind of sweet. So maybe they're realizing that they're looking bad and are lightening up.

What have you heard? I can't think of any reason why they shouldn't have been cast.

I put Jet and Dave in the "harmless douchebags" category. I'd much rather watch/listen to them than some of the colossal assholes we've seen on the US version. ("VICTORIAAAAAAAAA!!!!") When they introduced them in the first episode, I was prepared to hate them, but instead I've found them entertaining and even endearing at times. That said, I thought Jet was behaving like a serious moron during the RCMP challenge. The military guy was so much more respectful (and better at the task!).

Is Jet the one that's a police officer? He acted like he was going to ace the RCMP challenge and my thought was boy, are you wrong. My Dad was RCMP and I've known a couple, no way is a city officer going to match up with RCMP training.

A bit disgusted with the Tim's for getting rid of Hal and Joanne. I liked them up til that point.

So anyone watching tonight? Love the struggles with French. Don't think I'd get spinach either.

I have to say, the team that bothers me the most are the doctors. Very arrogant. I find it interesting that obviously intelligent people can be so socially and emotionally immature. Holly particularly, has very little frustration tolerance and when she becomes frustrated, she acts so immaturely. I wish they would go home.

My favorite team was Hal and Joanne. I also like the Tim's, but was very disappointed when the put Hal and Joanne out of the race. Not cool, IMHO.

I also find Jet and Dave to be quite amusing... there is not a lot of humor in this show, so I do enjoy some of their comments.

And, I really like Jon Montgomery as host! Manitoba boy!!

I was prepared not to like Dave and Jet but I do find them funny. I was watching hte interview after one of the other teams was eliminated (can't remember who) and they said Jet and Dave were actually really quick and funny. Dislike Brett and Holly. They keep talking about how being doctors they are used to working well under pressure, but I have to say it does not look like they do any better than anyone else.... and they whine so much!!!!!

Liked it this week. I enjoy the show. I was prepared to really dislike this show since they are only staying in Canada, but I"m pleasantly surprised. It's much better than the family version that was tried a few seasons back.

The tasks have been really challenging, both physically and mentally. Eating 8 chunks of raw whale blubber & skin would have done most people in :(

Glad the docs are gone too. She complained too much about being weak and not strong enough... what happened to being mentally strong enough to not allow yourself to be defeated by that? The sisters aren't big and burly either, yet they managed to do it (albeit with lots of whining too, although not as annoying somehow).

The whale blubber would have gotten me too, but for some reason I think that would be easier than some of the things we've seen people eat over the years... like the one guy said, just focus on the money at the end.

In B.C. they started replaying the previous week's episode. I left the TV room to do stuff on the computer and thought, "you know, maybe in the middle of the repeat the new show will come on". And that's exactly what happened. Five minutes in, I heard them switch off the old episode and start playing the new one. Weird.

As for the new episode, I'm peeved that nobody used the U-Turn. STOOPID! The top two teams had an opportunity to eliminate the team which has BEATEN them leg after leg after leg. To "play nice" is idiotic. It's like putting hotels on your Boardwalk property in Monopoly and then not charging anybody because you want to play a "clean game". There is no such thing as a dirty game, morons. Only a STUPID game.

The Tims are my least favourite team although this week they somewhat redeemed themselves by not using the U-Turn. I'm a softie so I loved it that none of the teams used it - as someone said, it's just so Canadian :) I never watch reality shows (except for Battle of the Blades), but I'm enjoying this show because it is so Canadian. And I'm totally cheering for the brothers to win! :cheer2::cheer2:

I can see the Tim's using a U Turn next week if they can. Telling that story must have been incredibly difficult.

I caught up on a few episodes while visiting my parents and am pretty impressed with the show. I'm glad there were a few tasks that required teams to deal with a language barrier and I've been enjoying seeing familiar sights in some of the cities. Glad to hear that the doctors got booted on an episode I haven't seen yet. I don't mind the Tims, but I always have a hard time cheering for teams who survive multiple NELs, since I feel like they should have already been gone by now. The sisters seem ok even if they are completely hopeless with directions, but I can't say I would root for them to win. So I guess that leaves me cheering for Jody and Cory in the finale...

I couldn't help but chuckle at the "language barrier" teams seemed to encounter in St. John's. I got every bit of the story and the screecher lol. As a Newfoundlander I loved the way our province was shown. They had some great footage, the busker task was excellent, and found it interesting that they crossed in Port au Basques and had to get driven across the island. Not sure about calling the chicken and egg task a typical thing though. Mom says it was very common in the past but not now.

Loved the connection to Terry Fox as well. It was fascinating to see the place you live and love showcased and to see other reactions to coming here.

The finale is tonight - 3 family teams competing - brothers; sisters; and father and son. In the Survivor model, they're having a one hour "after the race" show with all the teams. It's a bit of a promo of the new CTV show "The Social" as well as being about TARC.

I'm happy that I'm able to watch it all from the Atlantic feed as I'll know the results in a few minutes :)

I was hoping for the brothers but my second choice was the father and son. Definitely didn't want the sisters to win :D

Good news - CTV has picked it up for a second season - stay tuned next summer.

Rather disappointed that the Tims won, especially since they came in last in not one by TWO NEL. I just have a hard time accepting a win by a team that should have been out of the race earlier. That being said, kudos to them not giving up in spite of dad's condition.

I really wanted it to be
    1) brothers
    2) sisters
    3) Tims

I know. I was hoping for the brothers too. When they should them on the ferry and the brothers in the taxi and then cut to commercial I knew the brothers didn't make the ferry - it's too bad something like the time interval between the ferries helped to decide it. I would've preferred a foot race too the end.

I think the rationale behind the comment is that they were last to the mat not once, but twice. They were lucky and were saved by the NEL not once, but twice. They also wasted a lot of time at the Zoo but they had been smart (on the advice of Tim Sr.'s wife) and had taken note of the flowers and flags at each pit stop. Even without his notes, Tim Sr. was able to breeze through that final task :)

How can somebody be saved when it's a non-elimination leg?? Saved from what? Non-elimination??
