And now another post on the astonishing Holy City of Benares - all about the life on/next to the great Ganges River. I think it is the only river in the world that is revered as a deity. It's a truly jaw-dropping place. Completely gobsmacked!

Another post is ready - this one has some final thoughts and photos of India, and our journey to Thailand. OMG what a change!
India was a truly amazing experience, but it was beyond wonderful to get to a beach in Thailand and just stop.
As usual click on the link in my sig line.

There's also a post written by Mr alilou in "The Nomadic Life" series.

We just keep putting one foot in front of the other.
We have no idea when we'll stop travelling, or even if we'll stop. It's all a mystery :)

From the beginning! Wow! Still, it's the only way to get the full story. Thank you so much. I'm glad you're interested. I'm glad you get to have a bit of the experience of what it's like.
Waiting for worlds - me too! I'll be back in Vancouver for worlds and will see most of it live on Bold :cheer2:
I've missed skating this season - been in countries where the internet speed is too slow for live streaming or YT. Kwanfan has a huge stack of dvd's for me :cheer:

I've been following avidly, since you began sharing, as well; as I think you know.
It's been an education like no other, for those of us who could never experience anything like this, otherwise!

Thanks skatesindreams. It's been an education for us too lol.
Today we go to Myanmar (Burma) which has only recently opened its borders (I think maybe about 2 or 3 years ago). We're going to feel a bit cut off from the world I think. There's internet but only at dial-up speed, and I'm not sure if we can get a sim card for the phone, and medical help (God willing we won't need it) maybe a bit backward. So we go with a little trepidation even though we have read a lot about how wonderful the people are, and even though we know other people who've recently been there. But it will be the adventure of a lifetime :cheer:

A new post is ready - this one is about our lazy time on a Thai beach. And 2600 Buddhist monks. Yes! 2600 monks!

Click on the link in my sig line.

And another post in The Nomadic Life series is also posted. About how we dress  PrincessLepard would not be impressed :)

And now I'm off to sleep. I had almost no sleep last night. Don't know why. Then we spent the day driving and walking around looking at various ancient temples and pagodas and monasteries around Mandalay. A long day. Tomorrow we have to be up at 5 to get the boat down the river to Bagan. Soooo tired, but in good spirits. Myanmar is a very amazing place. Never seen so many gold stupas ever anywhere.

I'll bet they would be interested.
It could be a continuing source of income for you, as well.

Thanks Buzz. And thanks for reading :cheer:
Have been thinking about it. Many people have suggested it. It's a whole new area for me to explore. I'm hoping to have time to do that, and to put some more energy into marketing the blog, when we stop in Mexico for a couple of months later this year.
    And thanks for reading :cheer:

Finally a new post is ready, this time about our week in Bangkok. A big clean city with a well developed infrastructure. But we did manage to find some beautiful temples and interesting markets. Use the link in my sig line.

And a new post in The Nomadic Life series - about serendipity
    direct link - http://alisonanddon.wordpress.com/2013/03/02/the-nomadic-life-serendipity/

It's late, feeling tired - flew from Heho to Yangon today, and fly back to Bangkok tomorrow. Myanmar has been a most amazing experience - to come in future blog posts.

Back to Vancouver in time for Worlds :cheer:

Random information of the day: flying from HongKong to Vancouver yesterday I met a woman from Poitiers who used to go to school, and was friends with Joobidoo! He is a big star in Poitiers (well I think we pretty much knew that) :)

Yes, I feel so blessed. Just even that Bold is still doing it this year! (It will be our last year of it probably - who knows in what direction the new owners of Bold will take it). Anyway I'm excited to be seeing my first skating of the season except for about 4 YT vids.

I have a new post ready. It feels like it's been ages, but I've been really busy with endless appointments being back in Vancouver, and catching up with friends, oh and watching all of Worlds live on Bold. Anyway finally got a new post done - this one about Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Use the link in my sig line.

Then there's another entry in The Nomadic Life series, about why we travel.
    Direct link - http://alisonanddon.wordpress.com/2013/03/19/the-nomadic-life-why-do-we-travel/

A huge appreciative thank you to all of you who read the blog. I love to do it, but it's nice to know it's interesting for others. Every writer wants readers, and every photographer wants their photos seen, so thanks :)

Another post on Cambodia! This one about a trip to a floating village that was absolutely fabulous. A whole village of houses on water, all floating together, and grocery shops in boats, making their rounds, and kids rowing themselves around. A whole community living a completely different way of life. Truth be told there's lots of floating villages in SE Asia, but this was my first to get kind of up close and personal so it was very exciting.

And of course another in The Nomadic Life series - What Language Barrier?

We're now in a casita in a little village on the west coast of Mexico and staying put for a few months. Heaven :swoon:

A new blog post is ready, about our three day "boat" journey from Phnom Penh to Saigon. "Boat" because most of it was supposed to be by boat, but most of it wasn't. Still it was an amazing journey into life on the Mekong Delta.
    (Link in sig line)

And another post in The Nomadic Life series about time to rest (and get the blog caught up to date!)

    Looking forward to WTT :cheer2:
I can actually watch it live on the ISU channel - if the internet speed is fast enough, and I think it will be.
