A Surprise in Texas

    Last night, the PBS special, "A Surprise in Texas" premiered last evening on a number of PBS stations. It is the overview of the 2009 Van Cliburn Piano competition during which there was a tie for the gold medal was between 20-year-old Nobuyuki Tsujii and 19-year-old Haochen Zhang. The catch is that Tsujii is blind, has been since birth and plays everything by memory! I just lost it by the end of the program.

    Dang, the thread title led me to believe the Texas state legislature had approved equal marriage. ;)

    I saw the program last night.
    I thought that it was excellent; giving many insights about both the contestants, and the competative process.
