kosjenka, Mind if I ask you something on Zagreb?

Had you been there before 46th?
If you ever had been there, how was the temperature inside & outside the Dom sportova?
How long will it take from Zagreb airport to the Dom sportova by taxi?
Is there some restaurant or snack bar inside the arena?

    Thank you in advance!

I'm not kosjenka, but I've been to Dom Sportova for Euros twice, so I'll give you an outsider's perspective. ;)

Temperature inside the rink was mild on both occasions. In fact, I didn't need a coat and I usually feel the cold. :cold:

Different weather outside both times I was there. First time was warm (especially for January). The second time there had been snow, but I didn't find it too bad.

Journey from the airport to city centre/Dom Sportova would be around 30 minutes by taxi. I booked a pick up at the airport with Ekotaxi on kosjenka's recommendation and it was a great service. Flight was badly delayed, but the driver was waiting in arrivals for me. The price was also quite competitive. Should have booked them on the return journey as well because the taxi our hotel ordered charged us significantly more. :wuzrobbed

Nothing inside the rink really if you want to have something to eat. There are lots of cafes and sandwich shops in the Square around the Dom Sportova and some supermarkets very close by. In other words, you won't starve.

If you haven't been before, Zagreb and its people are lovely! English is widely spoken too.

I trained you all well during Euros that I dont even need to answer questions :D

@RunnersHigh Taxi ride duration depends when you arrive. If it is during afternoon 3pm-6pm it may be longer because of the traffic. Generally it can be between 45-60 minutes during rush-hour.

I wonder who will come to gala with 10 euro price... Not the locals, that's for sure.

I hope for all the spectators that they remove the hockey glass (which they did for Euros but not for Carolina last year if I recall correctly)

No Jajpan? There are two possibilities. Miki is not listed since she's invited. The other is Miki changed her plan. I think it's better for her to stay in Milano and prepare for Japan Nats, since the schedule is a bit tight with this competition.

Both Lysacek and Alissa Czisny still need to attain the minimum TES for the Olympics. Czisny is scheduled to compete at Midwestern Sectionals, Nov. 22-23, and if she qualifies for U.S. Nationals by placing in the top 4 there, I assume USFS will send her to Zagreb.

Korean-Japanese "war" at the Golden Spin. As if that side of the rivalry needs to be promoted before the event even starts. For realsies? How these editors manage to hold down a job is beyond me

Frankly - nobody cares about figure skating in Croatia. Using a political reference is possibly the only way for a regular reader to take notice. This article is not available online, but just the printed version predominately read by retired/elderly.
And such references do not hold the same meaning and intensity in all world.
Promoting rivalry is often used method pretty much everywhere...
