Little things that make my day: Animal Planet is a free preview for me for the month of February, and they carry the Westminster Dog show in Canada. So I'll be able to watch it on a proper screen instead of my laptop for the first time in about 4 years. Yay!

I caught up with Agent Carter last night, and have to agree with others that this season is not nearly as good as last season. However it's still worth watching, especially since it's not that many episodes -- aside from Peggy herself, Jarvis alone is worth the price of admission, and I love the dynamic between Carter & Sousa.

When I first saw the zero matter "crack" in the actor woman's forehead, I immediately thought of season 5 of Doctor Who. However if the zero matter ends up being the same stuff as the obelisk that transported Simmons to the other dimension in Agents of Shield, I might forgive them.

That was a tough episode of Madam Secretary last night but I loved how they handled it (though it's interesting that someone gets the idea of writing such an episode. Not something that would be on top of my idea list... :shuffle: )
And I absolutely loved the beginning, too. That look on Elizabeth's face when Jason explains why he's not going to college is priceless!

ETA: Chicago Med and Law and Order SVU have been renewed. http://tvline.com/2016/02/01/law-order-svu-renewed-season-18-chicago-med-season-2-nbc/ Not sure why NBC is doing renewals so early but I really like this relaxed attitude and wish other networks would follow suit. If you're sure you want to renew a show, renew it and say so. I don't see the point in drawing it out until spring (But then, I guess, it's how many TV shows are done - create drama just for drama's sake, so it's probably in their blood ;) )

I agree. Tonight's episode was fantastic. 3/3!

Would The X-Files qualify for Emmys under the miniseries category? If so, Emmys all around!

I thought the episode tried a little too hard for lightness. But it was a fun episode. The light-heartedness of this episode made me think this was done as the calm before the storm. Wonder if we're in for some darkness in the next three episodes. Just checked imdb.com to confirm the number of episodes left and I saw that the sixth (and final...at least for this year) episode is titled "My Struggle II" which should bookend the first episode, "My Struggle".

As for Emmys all around, I agree for everyone & everything but...Duchovny. Everything about the show is so well done and I feel that Anderson is really pouring her heart into this. Duchovny seems to be going through the motions, even just hanging around the set until his paycheque arrives. It's like they are working on two different shows as her work is so detailed and multi-levelled. She should be paid twice what he makes.

I enjoyed it too. But as much as I liked seeing Elizabeth and Henry in a completely different setting, my favourite scene was the final meeting between Nadine and Russell. Can we have one of those in every episode please?

I loved the interaction between Nadine and Russell in general but that last scene especially kind of reminded me of Russell and Elizabeth in the first season.
But they're all fun, love the dynamic between them all!

Did anybody watch the Super Bowl Commercials special? The Budweiser ones always make me cry. But I'm still laughing about the the donkey with the blonde hair extensions on his legs!! :D

Duh to me! We can all watch it and laugh and cry together any time.....

I'm so torn on Lucifer. I love him (well, I don't "love the devil" but you know what I mean), he's such a delightful character to have on screen and I could watch him for ages. But the cop is wooden and boring (though perhaps slightly better in the 2nd episode than the 1st), and the police procedural storylines are unimaginative and pedestrian.

I thought it was just me. I wasn't impressed with her in the first episode (haven't seen the second one yet) and thought they didn't really have chemistry. There didn't seem to be any response from her to him and then I thought it was intended because he's the one who's intrigued and she isn't interested at all. But I felt there was more between him and the shrink.

As far as the storylines, do they need to be imaginative for that kind of show? Not sure, really. It's more about the character of Lucifer than the crimes, isn't it?

I'd say that depends on what they do with the Lucifer character (and maybe the others) and where they want to go with him and the dark angel story. There are a few shows out there who are character-driven first, crime show second and, personally, I think that works, too, if the characters are fleshed out well and there's a lot to tell about the characters. I guess we'll have to wait and see :)

Yes, that's what I'm hoping. There's obviously lots to tell re: his background, why he left hell, what his being away from hell is doing to him, the good-evil balance, etc., so there's definitely potential there.

oh, and whoa, "Mr. Robot" is freaking awesome!

Yes it is! So nice to see it earning some awards. :cheer2:

I really liked the episode. We laughed out loud many times. But, the were-monster's monologue went on just a bid too long, and there wasn't enough Scully!

Do we know how many episodes of X Files there will be? I've recorded them but haven't had a chance to watch yet -- if it's a short season I'll probably wait til I have them all and binge-watch.

Hulu has the first 3 episodes of the new "X-Files". I had friends who couldn't find the episodes and swore Hulu didn't have the new episodes. I had to tell them they are listed under Season 10 of the episode guide.

That was some episode of the Colony tonight. Did not expect that ending although I should have seen it coming.
