Team USA & alternates for 2013 Worlds, 4CC, Jr. Worlds are also being discussed in the 2013 U.S. Nationals forum in Kiss and Cry: Worlds, Junior Worlds and 4CC Teams
I posted the U.S. Men's assignments here: http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/sho...l-discussion&p=3818579&viewfull=1#post3818579
U.S. Ladies' assignments here: http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/sho...al-into-2013&p=3818564&viewfull=1#post3818564
U.S. Pairs' assignments were posted late last night here: http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/sho...-amp-updates&p=3816352&viewfull=1#post3816352
How will Yasmin and Samantha get their points remains to be interesting.
The only ISU junior competitions that are held before the JW are Obersdorf, Ljubljana, Vienna, however all competitors deadlines were closed before US nationals.
(I also placed this questions in the other thread however this one is more appropriate)
USFS only named skaters who already have attained the TES minimums.
You are correct.
I had to go back and check. Yasmin earned her points in JGP Volvo Cup 2011.
Thank you for correcting me.
It would have been nice if you had put "US" in your thread title. There *are* people on this board from places other than the US.
I am so glad that Wagner is not going to 4CCs.
I like that they are sending Gold to 4CC and leaving Wagner at home. Gold can use the experience and another chance to test herself under pressure whereas Ashley doesn't need it and can use the time better by making sure she is healthy and well trained.
I can't believe they gave a spot to Adam Rippon and not Jeremy Abbott for 4CC's...That just does not seem logical from a best-results-possible-at-4CC-type of approach.
A very valid comment
Jeremy probably declined.
Why decline? Unless he's injured again? He needs the points.I'd like to know if they bypassed him or he declined. I recall they bypassed Alissa one year.
I agree. I originally thought that this thread would be about world teams from different countries and was surprised to see that it was only about US skaters..
They bypassed Alissa when she was national champion. Quite a bit different, I think.
They bypassed Alissa last year when she was silver medalist, not champion...but she still had the Worlds assignment.
I seriously doubt they deliberately bypassed Jeremy, they wouldn't do that. He almost certainly declined. It's not crazy that he might decide not to go to 4CCs. Maybe he didn't feel up to gearing up for a competition overseas with little time to spare, maybe he felt he needed some time to rest and regroup for next year.
Can an admin please rename this thread before I throw my laptop out of the window in a fit of rage?
THERE ARE OTHER COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD OUTSIDE OF THE US, THANKS.
How is Patrick Chan not going to Worlds?!?! Or Trankov/Volosozhar!?!? This sucks!
I am sorry for the missing "US". I tried to fix it but I am not able to.
Shouldn't that be, "Really, Really?"
Ahhhh, the only reason I opened this thread was to see you freak out. Well done.
I hope someone withdraws from 4CC so Mirai can go, but we know that won't happen. Agnes probably has nothing better to do.
Instead of complaining, people could post who is going from other countries. I'd love to have all the names in one place.
1) From the Skate Canada website:
2) the Japanese World team (yay, Wikipedia):
Yuzuru Hanyu, Takahito Mura, Daisuke Takahashi (1st alt.: Nobunari Oda, 2nd alt.: Takahiko Kozuka)
Mao Asada, Kanako Murakami, Akiko Suzuki (1st alt.: Yuki Nishino)
Cathy Reed/Chris Reed (1st alt.: Emi Hirai/Marien de Asuncion)
3) South Korea (hat tip to Sylvia)
Perhaps this post will get the ball rolling?
Don't use logic! How dare you!
Why does Canada not yet know who they send as their third dance team and third men entry? Given the depth in Canada, I'm positive they had someone place third at Nationals, so can anyone elighten me what's up with that?
Gao's school schedule could interfere with her going.
They decided not to assign their bronze medalists to Worlds, at least right off the bat. They assigned gold and silver (where there were two spots) immediately. Chan isn't going to 4C's, but bronze medalist Andrei Rogozine and Elladj Balde are going to 4C's, so SC may be waiting for that result. (Rogozine has the Worlds TES minimums, and Balde still needs the Worlds TES FS minimum.)
The Ice Dance podium is going to 4C's, but I assume Skate Canada is waiting to see if there's any chance that Weaver/Poje will be ready for London. They took a different approach than USFS, which assigned Denney/Coughlin a provisional injury bye assignment (subject to monitoring.) If not, I assume they'll send bronze medalists Orford/Williams, since there's no direct comparison between them and Paul/Islam (the only other Senior team with World minimums) at 4C's.
So Canada isn't holding the 3rd sport for Sandhu?
(Hey, a gal can dream, can't she?)
