It is amazing how things have changed in just one year. This year at least three senior lades should be trying triple-triples, Kaetlyn Osmond, Gabrielle Daleman and Alaine Chartrand.

Am I missing Kitty Qian and Kate Charbonneau on the ladies' list? Any chance they have injury byes to nationals, or are they out too? The top 10 at nationals could be mighty different from last year.

Charbonneau is #17 on the start list, and Qian did not skate at sectionals.

Kitty did not skate at Oktoberfest or BC Sectionals. By not competing at BC Sectionals, she did not qualify for Challenge.

Kate Charbonneau is listed as #17 to skate in the start list.

With Phaneuf retiring, only Lacoste and Osmond remain as byes to Nationals. Desanctis used a medical Bye to bypass COS Sectionals. Najarro is injured and may be still recovering from surgery. So Osmond's placing doesn't influenece the qualifying for Nationals. Top 16 ladies from Challenge (plus Osmond) will advance to Nationals along with Lacoste.

Top ten at Nationals (wow, tough to call) but I'll try: Osmond, Lacoste, Chartrand, Daleman, Sequin, Desanctis, Charbonneau, Gilles, Gray, Mallet. Once you get past the top few it is wide open. I think Osmond is considered the favourite, I am not convinced Lacoste will podium, Chartrand may medal if her PCS improves. I see the World teams being - 4CC (Osmond, Lacoste,Chartrand), JW (Daleman/Seguin), SW (Osmond), WTT (Osmond, Lacoste)

:duh: yes, Charbonneau is there; it's unfortunate for Qian that she won't be competing. I think your predictions for Worlds/4CCs etc seem likely. I'm hoping for some good skates both at Challenge and at Nationals and for a real battle for those podium spots.

The main consideration of the world teams is JW. Hopefully one of the ladies will get top 10 to continue with 6 JGP spots next year. Would be great for SW to get top 10 also for Olympics and SGP. SC still has to remain on the developmental stage with the ladies.

I believe that Chan, Reynolds and Ten get byes based on podium at 2012 nats. Balde, Rogozine, and Firus will receive a bye for competing Senior GP. So only 12 advance from Challenge.

In Ladies, Lacoste and Osmond have the only byes from 2012 Nats and they competed Senior GP. Osmond is skating at Challenge but that will not count for advancement. So top 16 ladies advance from Challenge plus Osmond.

I believe dance has V/M, W/P, G/P advancing from 2012 Podium and R/H and O/W advancing from Senior GP. So only 10 teams from Challenge advance for 15 at nationals.

In Pairs, D/R, D/W, L/S advance from 2012 nats. MT/M advance from Senior GP. P/M receive a bye for making JGPF. So 7 teams will advance from Challenge. L/S compete at Challenge so they are not included in the 7 advancing for a total of 12 teams at nationals.

Only 2 Senior pair teams are listed for Challenge: Lawrence/Swiegers and Taylor Steele/Simon-Pierre Coté (new).

5 Senior dance teams are listed for Challenge:
    Paul/Islam, Dumas/Perry, Paradis/Ouellette, and Poulin/Servant (Van As/Shindle WD).

    ETA:

Elladj Baldé, like Kaetlyn Osmond, has also elected to compete at Challenge even though he has a bye.

Purdy/Marinaro are skating Senior Pairs -- Jones/Beharry, too? (at Canadians)

Did anyone happen to save the Senior Men's short program start order? When I click on it now, it goes to the junior men's start order.

Does anyone know how to access the archived coverage? I can't find any links for this. I have paid for a subscription, but there doesn't seem to be a link anywhere in the promotional material.

Normally I would go to the Skatebuzz Ustream site, but that doesn't seem to have any place to select the Challenge options. Thanks for any help.

ETA: Actually there is a place to select the Challenge option (drop-down menu on the side), but when you click on it you get a message that says something like 'This pro broadcaster has chosen to remove thie channel from the Ustream.tv site'. I don't know where else to look for the archives, since there doesn't seem to be any place to login on the actual Skatebuzz website.

This is very frustrating. It would be nice if Skatebuzz had put as much effort into the actual streaming setup as they did into setting up the advertisements to try to collect your money. I'm not impressed.

I emailed them about the archive. I know it says within 24 hours but it's weird that the links are there but then don't work.
