Scores definitely look high. Michigan scored a 196.900 to beat Nebraska at home but Nebraska scored a 196.300 which is a big score. I feel like I can't tell at all how good Michigan will be this year.

Have fun! Florida looked amazing last week but they just had one too many falls on beam. It happens. What sets Florida apart is that they have style! Great team to watch if you love the sport.

The Michigan/Illinois meet is supposed to be live on the Big 10 Network at 4pm on Saturday for anyone who gets that channel.

Florida's meets are usually paying-customers-only if you try to watch it online, but they're showing tonight's meet for free! I don't have the link here with me at work but it's being shown on Gatorvision at 7 tonight.

Florida/Missouri meet is off to a good start. Ashane Dickerson scored 9.975 on Vault. Florida rocked on bars (except Bridget Sloan who fell): Alaina Johnson 9.95, Kytra Hunter 9.925 and MacKenzie Caquatto scored a 10 (49.6 total)

Well, the scores overall may be a bit inflated this season. It's crazy that teams are already getting over 197! But last week I said that I wasn't sure how good Michigan really is because of how high scores have been this season. Having seen their last two meets, I can say that they are really, quite good. Their 197.350 this week was MASSIVE but, aside from the scores, just watching them they look really solid. There are a lot of great teams this year but, I think if Michigan can keep looking so solid, they are serious Super 6 contenders. They hit 23 sets this afternoon. I'm really impressed with the way they've come back from an incredibly difficult year last year.

I love Michigan, too, of course! I'm hoping I'll actually get to see them at some point this year since silly U of M doesn't livestream from Cliff Keene. Right now the Michigan website says that the Ohio State/Michigan meet will be on the BTN in february. They had a great start to their season! 1st at the Windy City invitational over Illinois and Ohio State and that is with Sam Mikulak missing the meet for National Team training. There's definitely room for improvement on the scores. Hopefully we can stop counting 13s on pommel and PBars and 12s and 13s on high bar (they fall off a lot). Sam's return should help with Pommel right away and HBar and PBars sooner or later (depending on how his injury recovery is going) not to mention a big vault score. I'm sure they are still playing with the lineup as well.

Anyone follow any other big men's meets this weekend?

Not sure of final results but LSU scores 197.100 in Dallas. Scores were really high considering LSU scored a 48.750 on beam. No falls counted on beam but just some lowish scores.

Minnesota-Michigan State just finished up. Terrible meet for both teams. Minnesota, after their big win last week, scored a 194.325, Michigan State with a 192.600.

I am so frustrated with MSU's team. They had so many falls tonight. 1 on vault, 2 on bars, 3 on beam, 1 on floor (and one routine with two OOB that scored a 9.3). I know this is a seriously crazy young team, but they are WAY too talented to be constantly scoring this low. I know they're trying their best, but.. they're not even going to make regionals this year. :wall:

LSU had a so-so meet scoring 195.875. I don't have score breakdowns but I know they had a sub 49 on bars. Not sure if they had to count a fall or if they just weren't hitting.

Thrilled to see Zamarippa with a 10 on vault this week. :) A beautiful Yurchenko full.

At this point I think it will be Florida's NCAA title to lose, they haven't even come close to peaking yet and are the team with the most difficulty and star power. I think this will finally be their year, UCLA and Alabama don't have as strong of teams as last year, and they also don't have the difficulty that Florida will have across all 4 by NCAA's. Would be nice to see them finally get it, I'm especially impressed with Kytra Hunter and Bridget so far this year. Mackenzie Caquatto has scored 10 on bars, then they have Ashanee Dickerson and soo many others in every lineup. UCLA lost Sam Pezsek for this season, Mattie Larson is barely doing even 1 event now, Danusia is off to a so-so start score wise, and Alabama doesn't seem to be in the shape they will need to be to win it. (although to be honest I was shocked they pulled it off last year with a much stronger team)

Florida's only area of vulnerability is on floor. However, they have already started adding others into the line up (Sloan) so it should continue to improve. Even with that one area, they should still easily walk away with wins so long as they hit. That floor issue could hurt them though if they need to try and absorb a fall, as it did to them at LSU.

Florida is ridiculous. In a perfect world, their coaches would let Hunter, Sloan, King, Dickerson, and Johnson all do the AA in the nationals prelims so they can all battle it out for the AA title, but that will probably never happen. At most they've had 3 AA'ers in a meet.

Sloan's FX is one of my favorites this year. :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=yHxtD9icKAs#t=4964s (That youtube channel also has many full meets if anyone wants to check them out!)

Of course, the one night that I'm not able to watch the Florida meet online, they score a 198.1 against Florida! It looks like everyone except Kytra Hunter was on fire for Florida. Glad to see Bridget Sloan do so well last night as she's struggled on at least one event in all of the meets I've seen.

There has been a person posting entire meets from SEC teams on YouTube, so I'm hoping I get to see the Florida/Alabama meet and Hall's 10 on Floor.

I watched the Stanford/UCLA meet last weekend and I thought UCLA looked pretty good, but not as good as what I was expecting. One of the commentators was a male gymnast from Stanford and he was incredibly nitpicky and critical of the gymnasts (from both teams, but more UCLA), so I don't know if that put a damper on my enjoyment of the meet or what it was.

Bridget Sloan is taking names, I love this Florida team. Great on every event, the only thing missing is UCLA choreography but I ain't mad at their gator chomp this year. :)

Does anybody else feel like the top teams are all in relatively weaker years than normal (and to be honest, out of shape)? UCLA, Alabama, Georgia, Utah, Stanford, etc have solid teams, but not even close to the strongest teams they have had (esp in recent years). Florida has the best team they have ever had IMO.
