Now the ladies!
Mao, Kaetlyn, Gracie
Mao, Akiko, Kaetlyn
Kanako and Gracie will be just off the podium.
Gao will be 5th!
^^ How very prescient of you.
Maybe so if it goes something like this:
Mao, Suzuki, Osmond, Gold, Gao
It could just as easily be:
Mao, Osmond, Gold, Suzuki, Gao
Or, Gao could make the podium and Mao could be toppled by Osmond or Gold for the gold.
I was thinking Gracie, Christina and Asada. Only so that TSN will come up with some cheesy Rob Black quote like Gold wows Mao and Gao. Or if Osmond wins, "How now Mao Gao?"
Asada, Osmond, Suzuki...
Gold and Murakami will round out the top 5...
I think Asada is going down. I guess it will be Osmond, Gold, Mao
Gold - Mao Asada
Silver - Gracie Gold
Bronze - Christina Gao/ Kanako Murakami
After seeing Akiko in recent competition, I doubt she can regain her good condition in a weeks time, but if she does it would be a pleasant surprise!
A whole lot of talent will be there that's for sure. Of course we will have to sit through about 20 dreadful skaters before we get to good skaters.
CBC has the 4CC, not TSN.
Much as I hate saying it, yes, there will be some craptastic skates there. And I'm one of those people who support increasing the number of skaters attending! But some of these will be really, REALLY bad.
Judges for the event: AUS, CAN, CHN, TPE, JPN, MEX, KOR, RSA, USA
With 4 judges from the Far East, I wouldn't be surprised to see two or more Asian ladies on the podium.
I no longer see Mao as an automatic podium finisher, and I am a huge Mao fan. Her jumps have been unreliable for a long time now, and her PCS marks cannot make up for the marks lost in the jumps department anymore. I hope I am wrong about her.
Surprised to see Kexin Zhang on the poll. Is she still skating?
Mao, Gold, Suzuki
If all perform well I think it will be Mao, Osmond, Suzuki. I think Zawdski, Gao and Gold will be just off of the podium. Imo Agnes and Christina have much better choreo and performance quality than Gracie between the jumps so I think they will finish in that order off of the podium.
I'm hoping for an Asada, Osmond and Gold podium. I would not mind it if Osmond won the entire thing, but I'm realistic about her lack of experience and will settle for a top 3 finish.
Ah ha! And, the rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain
While in Japan, Asada was bred to retain all the street cred … she’s gotta have it!
And Gold may fold … (or mayhap, she'll boldly zoom on a Starship enterprise to strange and exciting new Worlds!)
Probably you're wrong. Asada is very reliable in Japan. Except for the bizarre case of 2010 NHK trophy, no foreign skaters have beaten her in Japan. In past seven years, Asada has only three losses in Japan (Ando twice, Suzuki once). Since Ando has practically retired, vast majority of the JSF's political resources will be placed upon her. My personal interest is how they are going to deal with her 3A.
I've found out that Japanese ladies have won 4CC in Asia five times in a row. And in all of these years, two Japanese ladies have won medals. Maybe such past records can't be neglected. My prediction is Asada-Gold-Murakami.
C'mon. 4CC is in JAPAN. Remember NHK, where Mao basically bombed in the FS and won anyway? Mao will be on the podium, no matter what.
Skating is incredibly popular in Japan. As I understand it, the arena was sold out the day the tickets went on sale, and Mao is #1 to Japanese fans. All three Japanese skaters will get a tremendous reception, just as Canadian skaters do in Canada.
My pick : Asada, Suzuki, Osmond.
But I really hope Gracie Gold will be on the podium.
I like these picks with Gracie as a dark horse in this event. I love Asada and Osmond but a sentimental part of me would like to see Suzuki win one.
LADIES SP Comparison (to be taken lightly as scores can't be compared, blah blah) for 4CC and Euros ladies going to worlds -missing Yuna Kim and Ashley Wagner and possibly Alena Leonova. Gorry is not confirmed.
