1. Kovtun 78.00 landed 1 quad, fell on the other, 3axel ok (Tarasova says he'll score ~90 when he lands both quads, with the 3axel in the 2nd 1/2, we'll see!)
2. Menshov 71.40 landed quad combo, doubled lutz & axel
3. S. Borodulin 70.43
4. Pitkeev 69.85
5. Dmitriev 69.54
6. Bush 68.69
7. Sezganov 67.95
Jr. Pairs SP:
1. Nagalaty/Bobrov 55.00
2. Vygalova/Zakroev 54.24
3. Tarasova/Morozov 53.44
Senior Pairs SP:
1. Bazarova/Larionov 71.72
2. Stolbova/Klimov 63.90
3. Astakova/Kurdyukov 61.30
Senior Ladies SP:
1. Agafonova 61.45
2. Pogorilaya 61.31
3. Kayumova 60.18
4. Artemieva 58.06
5. Biryukova 56.63
9. Korobeinikova 43.40 (dead last; now I see why she didn't go to Nepela, doubt she would've performed better)
With little precedent as he skated 3 times internationally as a senior I don't see kovtun pcs ever allowing a 90 sp score.
Ok guys videos!!!!
Videos will be uploading here http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQr4IJZyTPEDUaoZGWIeoQA/videos
Thank you, DobrinFan!

1) Elena/Nikita : need a lot work, looked very laboured.
2) Sinitsina/Zhiganshin : I was bored, they deserve better program, lifts looked out of position. Overall a typical Aleexeva group's program.
3) Stepanova/Bukin : I think they were better than S/Z, though i think she missed some steps in the step sequence.
Overall all three dance teams seems to have stagnated. In terms of program I prefer 1/K's. However, he needs to learn how to twizzle and it is always a bad idea to put their twizzles in the second half of the program.
It will be interesting what R/T brings but they are skating to Chicago (SD) and POTO (FD) so I'm not expecting much. One of S/Z, S/B, M/K may win that 3rd ticket but we are yet to see B/S new programs so.....
I also loved Sinitsina entire look!!!
Stepanova/Bukin have some interesting lifts in their FD, but otherwise I thought that their last season FD ('Bolero') was better. I liked Sinitsina/Zhiganshin's version of dramatic slightly more, although don't like the music cuts and the pop version of 'Casta Diva' too much. Overall they looked somehow smoother. As for Ilinykh/Katsalapov - I don't like those costumes for this dance. I hope that they are only temporary, and that they (especially her) will change them to something more classic. Elena's red glove is terribly distracting.
Also, it seems like Averbukh (who choreographed Sinitsina/Zhiganshin's FD) took this idea from 'Ice Age' just like Zhulin does - Totmianina and Staviski skated something similar in 'Ice Age: Cup of Professionals'. I don't remember about music, though.
I took one look at I/K costumes and was like NO..............I hope they find new costumes asap!
Yeah I/k need to do their twizzles immediately! It's not like there is a halfway loot bonus in ice dance! However their spins and steps can get level 1s and 2s so maybe they decided they need to risk it.
I wonder where the 'audible and recognizable beat' is in the Swan Lake selection of Elena and Nikita... I couldn't hear a clear beat, or it isn't mandatory anymore in ice dance???
I have to recognize they have changed all their lifts, new ones are a bit better though abuse so much doing the Statuesque position of Elena in two of them
that final choreographic lift looks a bit messy.
Those surely aren't their final FD costumes are they?!
They will change them, at least she will!

That's quite unexpected that Stolbova/Klimov beat Bazarova /Larionov!
ETA: just watched it. Bazarova /Larionov landed all jumps and then both of them fall on a transition. That's a pity. I like their skating and their program more than S/K.
Great for S&K. I wish the Olympic team would be V&T, K&S, S&K.
Good showing for Dmitriev.
B/L looked really tired, I wonder if they weren't feeling well. I also wonder if S/K are still thingking about changing thier free skate.
When is the ladies FS? After watching Tuk and Sot bomb at Finlandia and Japan Open, I'm thinking the team may be more open than it initially appeared, interested to see if any of the ladies here put up strong numbers...
Sinitsina/Zhiganshin only have 1 GP this year, right? Which is mostly because they didn't participate in any ISU Champs last spring and didn't get ranking points. So why aren't they doing any Senior B's to get more?
Ladies went hours ago and I'm stuck at work but here you guys go!!

ouch on volchkovas group, it's a shame, both, biryukova and korobeynikova could be great, but this is just a big mess

Thanks! Happy to see Pogorilaya got full credit for her 3lz-3t in both programs. The new 3lo-1/2lo-3s combo was UR, but understandable given it's a new combo for her and 3s historically has not been her best jump. Her BV for the FS is quite high, I'm curious to see how she fairs on the GP. She looks like she grew taller since last season so I am happy that, at least for now, her jumps still seem to be strong. Korobeynikova, OTOH, it makes me sad to see her struggle so much. I wonder what is the matter? She is so talented and such a beautiful skater...hoping for better in China.
