Suzuki's SP is being choreographed by Massimo Scali this week. She will work on her FS with Pasquale Camerlengo next month.

It looks like she will be back in Japan in between as she is scheduled to perform at AOI Japan on June 1st and 2nd.

Thanks for the link. IMO, Weather Storm by Scottish composer Craig Armstrong is somewhat reminiscent of James Newton Howard's Flow Like Water from The Last Airbender, which Rohene choreographed for Jason Brown in 2011-2012 season. Jason won Junior Grand Prix Final performing to that beautiful music/ choreo:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYtxwK2wJrg

Both Weather Storm and Flow Like Water start out and unfold in similar ways with so many nuances and feelings evoked amidst the repetitive but very strong and mesmerizing refrains. There are different colors and different instruments making an impact in both compositions as their themes build. And of course, water is the key element in both pieces -- so they're very fitting themes to bring to the ice. :)

SNOOZE!!!! Akiko used to be known for exciting peppy music, with fast footwork. Is she now trying to become the Alisa Csisny of Japan?

Considering both her 2013 season programs were fast, exciting and peppy, I doubt one music choice will mean she's trying to be the Alissa Czisny of Japan ;). A little variety in program choices is never a bad thing :)

Jeremy Abbott talks about his 2013-14 season programs in the first part of his TSL interview (starting ~2 minute mark): http://www.theskatinglesson.com/jeremy-abbott-interview/
Excerpts from what he said about working with Robin Cousins (he has yet to reveal his SP music):

It's still may and I already can't wait to see the new programs. I wish the new skating season was already there.

Wagner reveals her choreographers in this May 28 article (I've cross-posted this article link in the U.S. Ladies thread in the Trash Can): http://www.teamusa.org/News/2013/January/01/Go-For-The-Gold-Home/Go-For-The-Gold-Ashley-Wagner.aspx
    ETA:
According to this article translated by Akira Andrea in the Japanese news thread,
Nobunari Oda's FS has been choreographed by Lori Nichol to Rossini's "William Tell Overture" and David Wilson will choreograph his SP to jazz music from The Cotton Club soundtrack: http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/sho...-amp-updates&p=3929161&viewfull=1#post3929161

I think Wagners choreographer choices are fantastic. I hope her music choices are great too, I already like the sound of her new SP

Wagner plus Bourne sounds great! but Wagner plus Wilson - I have a feeling he will just phone it in (like he did Weir) because he has more important clients...

Oda skating to William Tell just makes me miss Lambiel even more. :(

I've always had the feeling that David Wilson gives his best to everyone - but that the program he choreographs may not be the program that we see in competition.

Well then Weir must have taken out a LOT of choreography from his programs in 2010 (much like Kwan in 2005).

^^ It's been said that Galina messed with that program as much as she messed with Johnny's already excellent jump technique.

Wilson was quitr clear in 2010 that the program Weir skated in Vancouver was NOT the program he made for him. The program Weir skated was stripped down to the elements so he could skate it and Wilson wasnt responsible for that.

I am so sick and tired of Yellow River Concerto, almost as sick as of Puccini.

Summarizing a bunch of things I see on here:

-Jorik is my 'skater to watch'. He will be top 6 in the world faster than most predict
-Sandhu may be coaching to raise $ to compete
-Chartrand better have some better material than she had last year. I hope Buttle really delivers for her this year.
-La Vie may just work for Akiko. She can totally skate light and pretty if needed
    -Ashley+Shae+sexy = fierce
-Abbott wins the award for most consistently awesome body of work over last five years
-Oda has just plain lost his way on all fronts
-Max? I'm keeping an open mind

    Can't wait for summer comps!

Has any Chinese skater been allowed to skip it?

At least Puccini wrote three pieces of music.

 I don't know of any music lover who would call those pieces of music boring. If a pianist came to my city and played those pieces in their repertoire I would be thrilled. Just as any pianist would have their own interpretation of a piece of music, so would skaters.

I think those pieces are excellent choices, and it's exciting to see what Mao will do with them.
