What happened to Gracie Gold competing? Scheduling conflict?

A preview program on Japan Open was shown on TV yesterday.

It was actually a "post-view" since Daisuke, Takahiko and Akiko
watched the videos of the past Japan Opens since 2006,
revisited the experience and made comments.

    It brings back some memories...

Philippe Candeloro! OMG this is too much. Will they allow back flips? Will the competitors be required to keep their shirts on?

Love it. The fans will be passing out from screaming given the roster.

Wow... the Medal Winners Event looks exciting! I think Team Japan has the greatest chance of winning.
Can't wait to see the skaters' new programs.

Is anyone able to read the site well enough to determine if a link is now available for where results will be posted?

Many of the links are images and thus can't be translated...

    Just my guess (no proof)

I think Gold is seriously aiming for the US national title and #1 spot for worlds. In that case, she and her coach might want to avoid to face their biggest rival (wagner) at this early season competition. They happily accepted the offer in the first place but after knowing Wagner is also invited, they have changed the minds. Considering past several years, Rochette should have the priority.

It's pretty much obvious Zawadzki is favored by the USFS and they "recommended" her to the JO organizers.

YAY!! Japan Open is starting in an hour :cheer2: Can't wait to see the new programs of the top skaters!

Yesterday Mao jumped beautiful 3A. And aloso her 3Lo and 3F-2Lo-tano2Lo look nice :) But Mao is not planning 3A today, maybe later in the season.
This season Daisuke plans to jump 2 qうads in his free program, and it's so exciting :respec: His new program looks nice and dramatic as always.

Thanks, Rosewood. So Jeff Buttle brings a new program, Piano Concerto by Scriabin. Would it be the only performance of this program for a while? Wow.

Kozuka's costume reminds me of last years', with a bit of twist.

This is quite a lineup of men.

jumps are on for all. most jumps during the warm ups by any of them were good.
Michal doubled 4s twice without landing a good one.
