That'll get Flatt out of Midwestern Sectionals, which are scheduled for Nov 9-13.

Glad Armin is at least getting a 2nd senior B after not receiving any GPs! He's been skating so well since Nationals!

Ay caramba! The number of entries is unbelievable, how did they do this?

Does anyone have a clue if they have an official photographer? I'll also try and ask them but FSUers always know best ;)

Those poor judges having to sit through all that... I don't think anyone in the crowd actually would :p Edit just to add :D after I noticed the number. ;)

I think I answered my own question, a close inspection of the site showed me they have partnered with GEPA Pictures.

Could it be that ISU minimum scores have impelled competition?

My friends told me that it wasn't actually hard to sit through at all. They just bitched about the dresses, the make-up, etc. and it was a very fun afternoon. :D

For sure. We are seeing much more skaters compete at international events in general this year.

I think a flask might help make matters a bit more lively. 60 junior ladies, you could come up with an extensive drinking game for that.

But the roster is pure OES heaven. I'd go in a heartbeat! :cheer:

Hurtado/Diaz are out due to the problems she's been having with her knees, so is Sonia Lafuente according to Spanish Fed.

Misha Ge tweeted about visa difficulties. He's trying to comply with all of their requests for additional documentation, and it sounds like the money for the prepaid hotel and airline tickets will be lost if the visa is denied. I'm assuming he's paying for it, since travel costs for Senior B's aren't covered.

Updated: Misha Ge just tweeted that he got his visas for Austria and Poland (I'm assuming Warsaw Cup the following week.)

There are no individual visas for Austria or Poland anymore. What you get is the Schengen one that includes most EUR countries with the exception of Ireland and UK. If he is lucky the visa is long enough to allow him to do NRW Trophy (listed as a Senior Lady right now) without having to apply for a new one.

Too bad it's too late to send someone like Angela Wang for some Senior B points.

I wish USFS would send a substitute (like Haley Dunne) but competing in this gives another senior lady a bye, and they don't want to give out any more byes, I gather.

It would be nice if US could send someone else, but its really way too late, and probably a lot of these skaters have made travel plans for Sectionals anyway. The time to assign someone would have been a month ago- I wonder if, had Rachael decided to take the season off before that, would someone else have been assigned in the ladies division? We'll never know.
