Zoe Gong (CAN) just skated a very strong program to James Bond. Two 2As, one in combo, 3Lo+2T, 3S fall, and some nice doubles.

    66.83 points and currently first.

    3. Chloe Roslin, Detroit SC - 60.92
    4. Livvy Shilling, Columbus FSC - 59.60
    5. Emily Gabriele, Coyotes FSC of AZ - 50.12
    6. Karis Nowell, Dallas FSC - 49.22

    11. Molly Zeme, St. Moritz ISC - 38.97
    12. Linde LaChance, Nashville FSC - 36.04

Elena Pulkinen delevered a strong performance featuring a 3S, 2A, and a 2Lz+2T+2Lo. She had one fall on her second double axel attempt at the end of the program.

Chloe Roslin botched her first 2A attempt but skated strongly from there on landing a small, but rotated 3T and 3S as well as a second 2A.

Livvy Shilling attempted some difficult content but struggled with most of it. She nearly fell on her first 2A, fell on a 3T+2T combo, fell on a 3S, and double footed both jumps in the 2A+2T combo.

Novice Ladies QR FS B - Unofficial

    1. Kaitlyn Doan, Rocky Mntn FSC - 59.40
    2. Cheyenne Taylor, Los Angeles FSC - 56.74
    3. Terri Hannig, Broadmoor SC - 52.52
    4. Gabrielle Le, Northern Ice SC - 51.18
    5. Mollie Boswell, Midland FSC - 50.00
    6. Ellie Hixenbaugh, Rocky Mntn FSC - 49.04
    7. Jennifer LaChance, Nashville FSC - 42.01
    8. Lindsey Mize, Rocky Mntn FSC - 40.36
    9. Emily Zeme, St. Moritz ISC - 39.02
    10. Abigail Walker, Nashville FSC - 37.00
    11. Savannah McVoy, Diamond Edge FSC - 35.73
    12. Jessica Calzolari, Rocky Mntn FSC - 33.97

Overall, Group A was a lot stronger than Group B!

Kaitlyn Doan landed a double axel, but fell hard on her two triple attempts, the 3Lz and the 3S. She had nice spins and the best presentation of the bunch.

Cheyenne Taylor had one of the most ambitious novice programs I have ever seen. She attempted five triple jumps in all: 2A+3S+SEQ step out, 3F step out, 3Lz+2T, 3Lo, 3S fall, 2A step out. Unfortunately, most or all of these triple attempts appeared to be cheated and were downgraded..but a very good effort indeed!

Terri Hanning landed a nice 2A+2T, a 2Lz+2T+1Lo combo, and some other nice doubles to take third.

Gabrielle Le skated a clean performance with double jumps and a single axel to take fourth.

Mollie Boswell landed her two double-double jump combos (2F+2Lo, 2Lz+2T) but fell very hard on both of her two 3S attempts to take fifth.

Katia did 3Lz<< fall, 2F, 2A, 3Lz <? hand, 2T+3T, 2S, 3Lo, fell on last spin. She has a lot of potential and I have to wonder if this recent insanity with her father may have been an added distraction. I hope she can get the jumps together.

She does, but still, her father has been in the public eye a lot lately. And that can be very distracting/upsetting.

It looked like Adrienne Lenda by the boards with Katia Shpilband today. Her FS music was Phantom of the Opera and she scored 76 in her Jr FS at the Ann Arbor comp. in May, so a much better skate there.

ETA: I believe Tanith Belbin choreographed Barbie Long's programs. West Side Story is her FS.

WOW! Fantastic FS from Barbie Long!! 2A+2A+SEQ, 3Lz+3T!, 3Lo hand, 3F, 3S, 3F+2T+1Lo, 3Lz. Extremely impressive; she just might be the Gracie Gold of this season. Presentation has improved too!

    100.15; first by a mile.

Avery Kurtz had a strong performance overall.

    3Lz fall, 3Lo, 3Lz (df) +2T, 3F+2T+2Lo, 3F (df) 2S+2A+SEQ, 1A. Feed conked out...it's safe to say she'll be second here.

My impression was that Long has a lot of work to do PCS-wise, but the program wasn't bad. Could definitely use more polish

Definitely, but IMO, she's already well ahead of where she was last year. For a season debut, that was extraordinary. She'll do very well on the JGP this fall if she can skate like that again.

Avery Kurtz's unofficial Jr FS score was 67.30 according to someone there. Her FS was to the Lord of the Rings soundtrack.

Barbie Long was very impressive today and must have been working hard in the off season!

Long may have the jumps, but Bell deserves the highest PCS. She catches your eye the moment she's on the ice. too bad about the jump mistakes

I caught most of Mariah's FS, also to West Side Story! ;)

I saw 3F+1T step out, 3S nearly fell, 2A, 3F fall, 3Lz fall...really needs to work on the jumps if she wants to be competitive! Great presentation, though, as usual.
