Hmm, looks like Mishin wasn't entirely happy with Miyamoto's choreo and dumped his program altogether.:(

    Thanks, kittyjake.

NOOOOOOOOO they can't get rid of RJ! Everyone here is saying that it was much better than his current program. :(

Perhaps the program isn't being shelved so much as saved for next year ;)

I hope so, but I feel like if that were the case, Mishin would have just said something vague about not knowing which program he would use instead of saying that they didn't like it.

who wouldn't go mad, listening to Tosca and Marton? :p

and I have to repeat what I've already said/written about Morozov's choices: time to get some new music! he gave I Pagliacci to Voronov last season, now it's Dai. thank God Dai can skate to anything and still be just brilliant... and at least Dai doesn't skate to POTC or RFAD :p.

Dai already skated to POTC a few years ago.

It is a theme from some cop show from the 50s I think but I can't remember the name of it. Definately not the Godfather.

the music sounds 50's jazz but it's definitely the main theme of The Godfather

Mishin said: First we did with the Japanese choreographer Kenji Miyamoto to music Nino Rota "Romeo and Juliet." It was a good program, but it lacked what I call, a triumphant finale

Translation: It was too complex and we can't have anything get in the way of JUMPS JUMPS JUMPS. :p

AFAIK, Dai's FS was choreographed by Shae-Lynn Bourne, and Morozov has nothing to do with Dai's music choice. It's Dai and Shae-Lynn who chose "Pagliacci" as his FS.

Out of Juniors, I like the SD of Stepanova/Bukin most, in Seniors, IMHO Pushkash/Guerreiro have the best one so far.

That's a very clever strategy IMO because would Plushenko with an empty but clean program lose to skaters with complex choreography but who have falls, I would expect most people to be behind Mishin saying that Plushenko was robbed as transitions are far less noticeable to the eye than falls. And would Plushenko however win under such circumstances, it would only be a most fair result to them. Either way, Plushy would be the rightful winner.:p

Also, Plushenko's multiple injuries and the fact that he's not training as much as your average skater does mean his stamina is lacking.

So you want to make the program as easy on him as possible.

I meant Pirates of the Caribbean, not the Phantom :).

phew! still, for me Dai can choose a combo of Tosca, Turandot and Carmen and I'll be very enthusiastic :).

    so true :D

Well, Mishin has his own ways of thinking of and perceiving a great figure skating, and I think it has worked rather well for Plushy;)

When I first saw it I thought PTOC was Phantom with just a bit missing from the O. :D

now THAT would be a program. Medley of POTO and POTC.

Separately I was impressed with Agnes Z's short program. Thought it suited her natural style.

I think the program has potential, although I'm not a huge fan of the version of the Godfarther theme. I wish they were using the original version or if they wanted to do something different maybe the Slash version. However, I look forward to seeing how the program develops.

    Slash's Godfather:

The sound quality is much better from JGP Sencila Bled than from the previous JGP's.

So I'm hoping some one can recognize some of the programs for singles & teams that have not posted an ISU biography update.

    Alexander Samarin LP
It appears this is to some kind of military themed movie soundtrack. Does anyone recognize it?

You can now tell that Yanovskaya & Mozgov's SD is to Bensonhurst Blues & Wilson Pickett's Land of 1000 Dances.
    Their SD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCk65mwTuyg

Their FD is to some Bollywood soundtrack.
Can anyone recognize it? Is it perhaps Mohabbatein?

Can't help you with the first tracks but the last one is "Ya habbibi yalla" by Ishtar and the Gypsy Kings (doesn't look like it but that's a french production -mixing maghrebi, sepharadic jewish, israeli and spanish gypsy elements- that has nothing to do with Bollywood).
The first track sounds actually more egyptian than indian to my ears but I may be wrong on that account.
