Russian Federation banned their coaches, making use of state resources, from coaching foreign skaters

An exception has been made for Morozov, as he is very much wanted by the federation.

He's going to continue coaching Ando and will be allowed to work with other skaters as a consultant.

Cappellini/LaNotte will spend half of the month with him and half in Italy. Amodio is going to split his time between France (Annick Dumont) and Moscow, after spending a month in US with Zakrajsek.

    http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/showthread.php?t=78785

    Good question.

    Changes to Grand Prix format

    http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/showthread.php?t=78719

Top 6 at Worlds allowed to do 3 events. Number of spots reduced to 10 for Singles and 8 for Ice Dance. A minimum score (2/3 of top previous season score) is introduced (although Peter Krick has now talked about scrapping that).

    Krasnopolski imprisoned for desertion

A court sent him to prison for 15 days (don't worry, as Tahbka said army prisons are more like summer camps) for desertion.

Israeli Fed claimed they agreed with the Army about postponing his service till after Worlds. The Army claimed they didn't agree to such thing.

Cyprus, Grenada and Morocco made provisional ISU members

    Third tier NA skaters celebrate.

Thanks to everybody who has shared info in this and other threads. I've just compiled it.

It's certainly been an eventful off-season!
I thought Skate Canada said they were both looking for new partners?

He was at the opening of a new skating facility (am unclear if it's a mini rink or just an ice surface) in Ashdod a couple of weeks ago, so I guess his situation has been sorted out. I've not been to any IDF prisons, but the guys I knew who were didn't seem too traumatized - though they were very anxious not to have the extra time added to their service term. Did he do the 15 days? Most people get it canceled or at least shortened.

While you have time to make edits (it's 24 hours from the time of your original post)...

    > Christy Krall and Damon Allen (Allen will travel with Farris to JGP, etc.).

From the USFS 2/24/11 press release about their split: "Barrett intends to stay active in skating by coaching and performing in shows."

It was just confirmed by Skate Canada today that Crone has changed her mind about retiring and will look for a new partner.

From their May 12, 2011 USFS press release: Keiffer Hubbell "is exploring his options, both on and off the ice."
    Aronow is listed on IPS.

U.S. Partner Changes, cont. (only teams that competed on the Grand Prix this past season)

Felicia Zhang/Taylor Toth split - USFS press release was published on March 10, 2011.
From the press release: "I plan to pursue my passion as a pairs skater and begin, with much verve, on a search for a partner to compete next season," Toth said.
Erika Smith/Nate Bartholomay split after Nationals (no press release).
New Senior pair team: Felicia Zhang/Nate Bartholomay.
I believe Erika Smith is looking for a new partner (even though she is not listed on IPS).

Britney Simpson/Nathan Miller split (no press release).
New Junior (and ISU Junior age-eligible) pair team: Britney Simpson/Matthew Blackmer.
I believe Miller has retired from competitive skating.

Rachel Tibbetts/Collin Brubaker split (no press release).
Collin is looking for a new dance partner, but I don't know about Rachel (she's not listed on IPS like he is).

Thanks a lot guys, all the edits added. :)

Reed/Japaridze split? She is looking for a new partner? What about his status?

I've seen it said a few times in other threads but can't find a thread for this.

Thanks for clarifying. I meant to say that this is another team split. Trevor Young is retiring from skating, but Becky will continue with singles.

Is it my imagination or are skaters jumping off the Zakrajsek wagon in droves? Does anyone know what's going on there? Not suprised by Josh Farris leaving after the disaster at Nationals...but Agnes? Max Aaron seems to be staying, who else?

I assume the first two teams will be junior and the second two will be senior. Can anyone confirm?

My understanding is Hole will compete singles and Johnson is done.

Too bad about Hole and Johnson. They had some promise, but it was crowded at the top for Canadian pairs.

Brown & Deschamps are competing in juniors at the Championnats québécois d'été. Bobak & Beharry are both still junior age eligible, so may skate in juniors as well. Suidy (age 24) and Evans (age 23) will have to compete in seniors. Sorry to hear about Kaleigh & Adam. :( They had a nice look on the ice.

Both Suidy and Evans can still compete junior if they choose to. Suidy was junior this past season. There is no age restriction nationally. In my mind both should compete Senior but hey, it's skating so you never know. lol

    Noooooooooooooooo! :(

I know that Matej has been a complete and utter headcase but they looked great together.

I hope she can find a good partner abroad and continue.

You’re right. I’d forgotten about that. Not sure how I could forget the WTF moment at nats in Saskatoon when Annie Barabé’s very obviously adult team got on the ice with the little ones. Both Evans and Cosford competed in seniors previously. I can’t imagine either would be interested in going back to the junior ranks, but as you said, one never knows……..

I’m surprised to hear that Mathew Penasse is still available. He’s a good size and has solid pair skills IIRC.
