I won Skate Canada! Would like to give a shout-out to those who gave practice reports for aiding my picks. :)

Oops, double post. Anyway, I finished 54th week 1 and 55th week 2. I'm certainly consistent! Finding this game slightly easier and less humiliating than the FSU prediction game, but enjoying them both...

Taking out Pang/Tong is kind of smart and bizarre at the same time.

As the commissioner of fantasy skating, I admit that omitting Pang and Tong from the game this week is a little bizarre. However, there is no one else is the field who is in their league, and the other seven entries fall neatly into three "pools." While it was not my preference to leave them out, doing so was the fairest thing to do.

Haha, same! I make picks that seem oh so very logical at the moment, but I never seem to get very far!

I went crashing from the top of the leaderboard to trailing by three hundred points. :wall: Oh well, it was fun while it lasted....

Blind faith in Tomas Verner, and lucked out picking the dance teams who finished the competition. ;) It really stinks when you pick a skater/team that withdraws, happened to me in the past. I like that the FSU game lets you go down your list so your score is not devastated by a withdrawal.

CoR was my best event thus far, until all three of my dance picks withdrew and I went back to my usual placement range.

I always seem to sick at picking the right skaters. :wall:

So far, 4 of my skaters have withdrawn mid-competition (all three dance teams this weekend + Voronov a couple weeks ago). I've fallen from top 5 overall to 200th something place. I wish the computer could just select a different pick at random when someone withdraws so that all our other picks don't go to complete waste. I applaud everyone who gets through this entire season without one of your picks withdrawing and sucking all the fun out of it for you.

I picked the Hubbells and Faiella/Scali and dropped 10 places overall. It's not horrible, and I'm still in the top 25 overall, but it still kinda sucks.

My rankings have been so random this year! I've had the following rankings through the GP series: 207T, 100T, 22T, 87T, and now I'm at 58 all by myself. :p I'm either decent in my picks or really bad, LOL  I am happy that I picked at least two dance teams who ended up part of the final five at CoR this weekend! :D

I hadn't even looked at the leaderboard till just now because my picks have been dismal this year. So I was pleasantly surprised to see that 81, 159, 95, 139, and 89 add up to 15th place overall. Fuzzy math.

    Now that takes talent. ;)

Mail in an absentee ballot. ;)

As long as you lose all points when a team withdraws, luck plays a huge part. I'd say this contest is at least 50% luck. The most important thing, I think, is not to take things too seriously and to just have fun. Whenever I submit my picks, I usually do it in less than 2 minutes. IOW, I don't sit and think real hard about any of them. Sometimes I end up doing half-decently, sometimes I bomb. But either way, at least I know I didn't waste a lot of time on the silly contest. :)

I've had so many points erased off the board from skaters withdrawing mid-competition, it's as if I forgot to submit my picks one week. Joubert withdrawing at TEB killed me again.

Jinlin Guan was on the gamecard the night before, but he was mysteriously absent at the competition. But even though I made really good picks otherwise, I still wound up in the high 200's? Argh.
