I'm watching Beijing explode with fireworks, and even after all of these years (I will have lived in Beijing for 10 years on Monday), I'll never get sick of seeing this!! Well, until tomorrow. I always love the first half hour and could do without the next three weeks!
I'm on the 22nd floor of a swanky hotel and the view is stunning. Beijing's fireworks are so different to Adelaide's and Australia's, which I watch every year when I was home for our Christmas and New Year. Cleverly choreographed to music and also stunning, but nothing like the mass scale of Beijing fireworks - they're in every direction as far as the eye can see. Random and beautiful.
