Really? I was under the impression you were just as mesmerized as most of us.:)

I am! I think I just love the waltz more, which really surprised me too. I feel like Carmen is getting all the attention and the narrative is now being written that the SD isn't as strong as their FD or as other couples' SDs, and I totally disagree... both programs are knockouts.

FSU nowadays is like The Hannah Montana Show compared to what it was during the G&P/K&O/B&K/L&A/F-P&M/D&V/A&P days. Vicious.

Word x infinity. It's not even close. I can't remember D&W or V&M fans refusing to clap for the other or turning their backs... it's all very lovey dovey.

He said that Tessa and Scott's SD lift was too long. Also that the judges prefer CL's Carmen (he has to say that since he made it). He also says that Tessa and Scott aren't in good form this year but he doesn't really care since they aren't his students.

He also said, judges said him, they like C-L Carmen much more. V-M now in very bad conditions and he didnt know why, because he didnt work with them.
And yes, a lot off anry on V-M didnt have dedaction for first lift.

Yeah - most of FSU is so vicious - same with GoldenSkate. I don't have a subscription here, but I still see a lot of hate in the free areas. That's why I basically stick to this thread and the Russian/German ones.

It's so ridiculous and unfair that, with two programs as complex as these are, T&S aren't allowed to not be perfect in the first competition of the season. They make a couple of mistakes and suddenly "they aren't in shape this year". They have another 4 competitions until Worlds, plenty of time to work out the kinks.

Some people do, some don't. The ones who tend not to like V&M because they think they are technically gifted but boring seem to be loving this dance.

The reality is both teams had rough first outings. It's a first outing and V&M even said at HPC it's a demanding program and will take the full season to fully develop adding that that is the way it should be, if it's perfect at your first outing then it isnīt challenging enough.

I also wouldn't pay any attention to the usual suspects saying it isn't classy or that it's porn. Art should provoke strong reactions, push the boundaries, exceed expectations.

I've personally decided I think this is a risk worth taking for V&M and respect them for going there. If you feel the same way I think this is one season you will need to sit back and enjoy the ride, avoid prudish overreactions and just enjoy what they are trying to do. Don't panic about the results, just enjoy what they are doing and let the chips fall where they may.

Like alwayse. And we must undrestand, there a lot of fans of other skaters there:)
But i think if V-M will skate C-L Carmen nobody will tell this is good FD and notice all old elements.

Dont know. I agree they could lose becayse of super-difficulty of this FD, but this FD is something speciall in ice dance history. So who care, what judges thinking about if, if this FD in 10 times better, then all others?
If last season D-W were masterpiece without any new element, i think compare to it, this FD is best of the best.
I could only hope T-S will stay healthy and happy during all season long.

Not everyone liked it, but I think the reaction in general has been favorable. You can't criticize fans of other teams for downright rejecting it, it is a natural thing to do. You dislike one team, you will never fully accept their program is good. I know this sounds unfair, but we all do this. So, really, I do not mind to hear the nasty comment here and there. To me, this is natural in our bullish culture, sadly.

Beautifully said, Pani. That's why I am so happy. This? This is special, people. Let's treasure it and be thankful to them for still having that drive and creating a program like this.

I always liked Igor but he can stick it if he's gonna pull this crap. Whose next to dump on, the Shibs or D/W?
Something told me when I watched the SD which I love that there might be an issue that it's not 'polka enough' but you no what if those are the rules too bad. Don't let them do a waltz(or anything else) with it then if all you want is a hoedown of polka music. I sure as heck hope this SD isn't a problem and they have to change it. I'll be pissed they had enough issues last year with the SD and their attention needs to be on the FD mainly. Can we ditch the SD experiment already? It's becoming a pain.

why is this a concern? the only polka they need is the yankee polka done to polka music. tessa and scott do that and move on. there is no need for the program to scream polka. it's not a polka sd, but a polka/waltz/march sd.

why is this a concern? the only polka they need is the yankee polka done to polka music, otherwise it can be a waltz. and there is no need for a polka to have the vibe of a polka aka perky, cheesy. there is no need for the program to scream polka. it's not a polka sd, but a polka/waltz sd.

It's not a concern for me and I know they made mistakes but I'm just trying to read into the criticism about their SD. Which I probably should just ignore I know but I can't help it.Nevermind just ignore me.

I feel the same way. Not panic about results, that's a tough one:D, but enjoyment and admiration for what they're doing certainly come first.
