No big surprise that K&O's Carmen has been my favorite icedance use of the music and after today V&M's is right up there with them.

Frankly, I wouldn't change a thing about the costumes. I love that there is detail on them. I love the skirt on Tessa's dress and really don't mind the mesh on Scott's. Sometimes it's hard to see on some video but where is does Scott's costume have mesh other than at the neck line? I didn't think Tessa's makeup was that harsh; it went along with the feel of the program and the way V&M chose to interpret Carmen. Maybe I'll take a look at the close-up podium picture again.

Sometimes we see teams who get it right from the get go; program content and costumes. This is one of those times. I can see this being one of those instances where Tessa and Scott can keep these costumes for the entire season. Well unless, they get negative feedback on them which I can't see why they would.

ETA:
I don't know why I keep forgetting to mention Tessa's tights. I like the use of the black fishnet! tights along with the white boots. I hope she keeps those as well. Really I thought in respect to their costumes everything looked perfect. The way Tessa and Scott were dressed really fit the interpretation of the music they gave. Quite a change from a few years ago during the 09/10 season when Tessa was wearing somewhat conservative and demure dresses with really long skirts.

I agree with everything ou say. I LOVE this program, costumes, love it all. I am over the moon.

Cjuld someone translate, what italian commentators said, please? :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wuZG3ZEMOo&feature=plcp

i was watching it too right now...
Pedrazzini (the man) was clapping... "i enjoyed every single move, look and idea of this program. it's a Carmen that goes beyond the original concept. it is seen in a new way, different but...incredible." He commented that the moves into the twizzle are taken from modern dance. He personally likes when classic pieces are done with a contemporary interpretation, but keeping the intensity and energy. Despite their difficult and different positions he felt the intensity.

those costumes somehow look "timeless", but at the same time her dress is something that Carmen herself would wear, i think!
also, they're so connected and glued to each other through the dance, that when there are some passages when they skate as single, it looks strange! you immediately say, "what's happening??" I think that this program is a milestone already, along with Bolero, Aria etc. It shares the same "timeless" quality.

she's so stunning, fierce and hot that one can totally figure why Carmen drove men crazy! no singer or skater before Tessa made me realize her real feminine power. not even Rita Hayworth in the movie .
these two are making me love the story, which i previously disliked much! they make me understand so many new important things about the drama.

When she was walking in to skate I could see her jewelled bellybutton gleam!

I think I will be watching this one again and again and again. Yesterday I didnt allow myself to be immersed I was so afraid for them. Today I was drawn into the program. It has a timeless quality.

Carmen is all about Carmen and this program is about Tessa - Scott is the vehicle to bring her forward. Tessa is Carmen.

I don't speak Russian, but it sounds like to me he's going after V/M now the same way he went after B/A when they left Canton for Linichuk.

I love it - I agree that Tessa's costume is great and her hair is perfect. I have many favourite programs from them but this one is likely to top them all. I was mesmerized from beginning to end. I was hoping to go to Canadians this year - but my daughter announced she is getting married at the end of December and I can't really afford both. Let's see how much persuasive powers I have with Mr. Puglover.

I think he's talking about the short dance. I don't remember if VM received a deduction for the lift, but Igor (I think) is saying that they should have received a deduction because the lift was too long. Then they asked him, again about SD I believe, if he isn't worried to see his former students in such poor form. He says that it is not his job to worry because he doesn't coach them anymore, but from what he saw, Tessa and Scott aren't in the best conditions and he doesn't know why.

Pani, correct me if I am wrong. I might have missed a few things.
