I cracked.

It's awesome.

Sorry Cherub.

 I don't think anyone could hold that against you.

Haven't had a chance to post here since the end of last season due to being so busy with work. But have had a chance to pop in from time to time to read all your comments - which have helped to keep me from going insane (many thanks for that).

Also haven't had a chance to view the practice videos but following all the posts crack me up (in a good way). Only a few minutes away so I'm pretty sure I can hold out :)

Can't wait to see it live and to hear everyone's thoughts afterwards.

Welcome back! I look forward to reading your thoughts on the performances:)

5 (coherent) thoughts I had while watching this

1. It's not that Scott's hand is on her thigh. It's that Tessa likes it, encourages it, demands it. Anyone who doesn't like the mere idea of female sexuality portrayed need not apply here.

2. The controversy? It's not because it's explicit (though it certainly is for them). It's because you believe it. That's what shocks me more. Instead of generic-diva-posing masquerading as choreography, you have a vividly sensational piece. Love-lust-betrayal-envy-power-sex-cruelty-violence-madness..... whoa.

3. Swan + Zoueva + Virtue/Moir = masterpiece. We're likely to underrated Zoueva's contribution here as we are Funny Face, but Carmen builds on and from both. Tessa will no longer be even hinted at as the less expressive partner after this (well, they might, but now we needn't defend her because seriously, it's not fun to argue with the blind and/or insane)

4. Greatest moment? The second footwork sequence. When they hit that, expect the judges to wonder if they can go higher than 10. The way they contrast staccato flourishes with fluid movements. the build and attack (it's even more intense than Farrucas' straightline step, and that was fire-breathing).

5. That ending is a wowser. Tessa's face and body says more in a pose than some ice dancers have done in a career.

Proustable, love your comments!

Anyone watching the SD? The second group teams getting hammered on TES. Everyone got much less than at the previous competitions. I worry about those polka levels...

Tracy is talking about their FD over the SD practice. Seriously, I need to learn how to time travel.

Yeah Tracy just said that she has not been this excited for a FD ever & she remembers waiting for Torvill & Dean to debut new material & it feels like that, this is just unbelievable according to Tracy...the FD & she adores the SD too of course.

Not too worried about T&S & the polka levels, the polka part they do looks stunning, not sure how they could find anything wrong with it.

Yay, the first program of the season from V/M! Not perfect - that last lift had issues (entry and position change weren't seamless and they're talking as if Scott might have hurt his neck) - but a lovely program.

I told a dance coach today about V&M's FD. He asked should he close the door when he watches it.

What happened there? The lift? Seems they only got level 2 for the steps??
I feel like we jinxed them with too much enthusiasm...:( Hope they recover for tomorrow.

But the polka did look great, I thought. And the whole program is lovely, full of little elegant details.

Tessa got smacked hard in the head right at the start...wonder if that startled her a bit. Much to work on...now on to Carmen and hopefully a better day.

Protocols are up:

http://www.isuresults.com/results/gpcan2012/gpcan2012_IceDance_SD_Scores.pdf

Got hit on multiple elements.
Only level 3 on twizzles and 2 on SS.
Other than the obvious problem on the lift (level 1), it'll be interesting to see with replays what happened with the other levels.
