The Good Wife returns tonight for season four on CBS. Fresh off an Emmy win for Martha Plimpton (as Patti Nyholm) - which can be added to previous wins for Julianna Margulies and Archie Panjabi (and 22 other nominations!) - we get to see who is knocking on Kalinda's door as she sits solemnly with that gun in her hand...

Here's some website links in case you want to refresh your memory of the show...or join the rest of us in watching one of the best shows on TV these days!! :cheer2:

Love this show! Hate the NFL on Sunday nights. :P

Can't wait to see what happens at LG this year. :watch:

Are all law firms as financially precarious as Lockhart Gardner? They seem to be on the brink of going under about twice a season.

Maybe Alicia will start on the road to being partner this year.

waaaah, my DVR cut off the last few minutes. Damn you, football!

What happens after the cop calls Zach to apologize?

Anyway, great premiere. Loved pretty much everything about it.

Not sure what to make of Kalinda's whole marriage / not-so-ex husband, but that was sneaky getting into Lockhart Gardner as a client.

Loved how Nathan Lane's character got David Lee to stay. :D

And OMG that music. They let it run just long enough with no visuals that I was reaching for the remote to double-check I was on the right channel.

I don't think you really missed anything?

This is such a great show! It has *by far* the most interesting collection of women characters on network television!

Just peeked at another forum, I think you only missed:
Diane and Will toast to Will being able to lawyer again. Alicia sees them, leaves the bottle she also brought in the hallway, and she walks away.

What happens after the cop calls Zach to apologize?

Cop hangs up, looks at the other guy (assistant D.A. for that other county?) and says, "500,000 hits? Really??"

Nathan Lane asks Diane if she could (would) lead on her own. She says no - "I need Will". "Lockhart and Associates?" counters Lane's character. "No...we're a team". Then Lane says something about how she better be prepared to work hard...they'll be cutting 30 per cent of the staff.

Diane rushes into Will's office. They do a countdown (it's midnight?) and they clink glasses. "So you're a lawyer again." Will: "Just like that?" Diane smiles.

Alicia arrives with her own champagne bottle, but sees the two having a moment and leaves them to it. She sets down her bottle and walks away without being seen.

The end credits say, "In Memory of Tony Scott". Then "Produced by Ridley Scott, Tony Scott". :(

Not a fan of "50 Shades of Kalinda". I did love the opening. "You called my friend at home?" WHACK.

Zack's musical choices remind me of my what my teen listens to, I'd have zoned out too if I were Alicia. Loved Peter getting all papa bear on the other SA, but Zack was the one who got the case kicked with his video skills.

Nathan Lane's performance was really good. I'm so used to him overacting that this was a nice, subtle change for him. Can't wait to see him and David Lee go at it.

The Kings have promised to give us a better Eli story this season. Hope so, it was cringeworthy last year.

So glad show is back.
I love the continuity and how Zach handled the situation he was in. He and Grace have been on the web watching videos since the beginning of the show. I loved how Alicia was so proud of him.
dbell1 - I agree about Nathan Lane, I enjoy him, but when I saw his name in the credits, I thought oh no, but I like the non overacting. David Lee was a hoot!
And better story for Eli - if he is on the campaign - it should be better.
If they cut 30% I still am assuming Alicia and Cary are safe. I like Cary back in the firm.

What's with the porn, Zach? Will someone from the family values campaign be getting a hold of his computer? So that, with Alicia and Will's dalliance, seems like it will make for alot of campaign fodder for the other side.

I don't know who the writers are on this show but I like this show almost as much as Sorkin's "The West Wing." Verbal jousting gets points with me. The firm is so much better with David Lee.

Tons of good stuff this episode. The scene with Peggy (Kristin Chenoweth) and Alicia was wicked awesome!! Perfectly written, acted and directed. Another round of Emmy's, barkeep! :D LOVED Alicia's one-word answers, Peggy's comment about that, and Alicia's one-word response to that question! And finally Alicia's statement about this not being about women...or the 50's...this is about me. :respec:

Nathan Lane was brilliant. His pauses and glances were brilliant examples of silent acting. One time, his pause got me laughing so hard I started choking and thought I was going to laugh myself to death!

I absolutely love this show! All of the characters fascinate me and their interactions are brilliant! I watched the first 3 seasons in about 2 weeks while on a break between jobs, and waiting for the mailman to bring my Netflix videos was torchure.

And I can't wait to see what kind of havoc and confusion that Jackie is going to create. The mother in law from hell......lol

Another thumbs up for me. Loved everything everyone else has commented on, but in particular Nathan Lane and Kristin Chenoweth both putting in controlled and tight performances. Esp. Lane -- I really hope he's in for a while, what a fabulous dynamic he adds.

I would be a definite thumbs down on Kalinda & hubby's s&m ... if it were anyone but Kalinda. That woman can take care of herself. Plus I love Marc Warren, I'm happy to see him in anything even if he is a dirtbag.

A teenage boy looking at porn?!? Stop the presses!
