How many iPhone 5s will Apple sell worldwide this weekend (the 21st-23rd of September)?

The exact number will be subject to liberal interpretation from one or more the following:
1) an official press release from Apple, or a news quote from an Apple official
2) any number of news articles from reputable tech blogs and published mainstream newspapers

From TechCrunch (http://techcrunch.com/2012/09/18/analyst-estimates-on-iphone-5-launch-weekend-sales-range-from-3m-10m/):

Analysts have begun making their predictions about the iPhone 5′s odds of success for launch weekend sales, and in fact there’s quite a range when it comes to how the experts see things shaking out. After Apple unveiled iPhone 5 pre-order totals of 2 million over 24 hours, double the 1 million the iPhone 4S managed, it would seem like multiplying out the 4S launch weekend total of 4 million total sales is a safe bet. But that’s not necessarily the tack all industry analysts are taking.

From http://www.apple.com/pr/library/2012/09/24iPhone-5-First-Weekend-Sales-Top-Five-Million.html

CUPERTINO, California—September 24, 2012—AppleŽ today announced it has sold over five million of its new iPhoneŽ 5, just three days after its launch on September 21, and more than 100 million iOS devices have been updated with iOS 6, the world’s most advanced mobile operating system. iPhone 5 is available in the US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and the UK, and will be available in 22 more countries on September 28 and more than 100 countries by the end of the year. Demand for iPhone 5 exceeded the initial supply and while the majority of pre-orders have been shipped to customers, many are scheduled to be shipped in October.

Sounds like some massive supply constraints. (((frazzled Chinese sweatshop workers)))
