Yeah, I don't think there is a Red Lobster in the Vancouver area. Maybe overedge was thinking about the one Olive Garden?

I am pretty sure there used to be one out in the wilds of Langley, but according to the Red Lobster website it is not there any more. Maybe Olive Garden scared it away....

There are Canadians visiting the mall I work at ALL THE TIME and I LOVE them. They spend tons of money and it's awesome. We wouldn't be making our sales numbers if it wasn't for their huge sales.

What can I say, I'm a shallow girl.

I also love them for putting up with my lame lame lame hockey jokes. I can see they're forcing out a laugh, but I appreciate it all the same.

So if Costco does have American-only hours, will they call it "Ugly American Day" ;)

I don't know if it still happens, but there used to be bus excursions for shopping at the malls. Used to see four or five buses on Sat & Sun at the Tacoma Mall when I was younger.
Quick Shuttle (Vancouver, Richmond, YVR) has a stop at the outlet stores by the Tulalip resort about 45 minutes north of Seattle. They won't sell a ticket that doesn't cross a border, and public transport into Seattle is a cow. I'm not sure how people get their stuff through customs unless they stay overnight -- and until June 2012, the 24-hour limit was only $50 -- or get someone to pick them up to get to the city. However, if they're casino buffs, they can get picked up at the big one in Richmond and get off at Tulalip and gamble away.

yes - and Applebee's I believe. If you have a gift card from one, look at the back of the card to see where you can redeem the card at.

They just noticed this? It's been going on for, well, approximately forever, even when the limits on what you could bring back were a lot lower.

Lawsey, where has USA Today been? Here in Maine, we've had signs in French for years. And you hear enough French in stores to think all of Quebec is here. And we have Old Orchard Beach, the French Canadian Riviera. Which is fine. We'll take those Loonies, thankyouverymuch!

If they don't want you crossing the border into WA, you just keep driving east & come on down Windsor way for a visit.
