Whee! Finally a Cycling gold not for GB! Seriously, people are complaining about table tennis being non-competitive? Track cycling seems to be all about throwing money at an underdeveloped sport.

Laura and Andy won a silver in the mixed doubles - not bad at all considering the winners are the top seeds. And Ed Clancy won a bronze in that weird cycling event called the omnium :)

Can you explain what you mean by 'underdeveloped'?

It's nice for the homecrowd, but I'm really glad that Vika has a gold! :cheer2: Also, nice for Max Mirnyi to win at age 35. Besides, Vika/Max have played together outside the Olympics and have been very successful, so it's nice to see them repeat it here.

Armenia wins another medal - silver in wrestling. Gold goes to Russia. First Russian gold at these Games in the sport other than judo.

US vs Turkey women's volleyball gave me heart palpations. Excellent game. Destinee Hooker is a :rockstar: I don't think I can stand another set.

so Russia needs to wait for their Queen Evgenia Kanaeva for Russia's to get another Gold  they have silver overhauls but their gold tally so far is a joke, judos ? :drama:

Yes, Russia's gold tally is pretty terrible, comparatively speaking. They're favored in synchronized swimming and rhythmic gymnastics (and can possibly win gold in artistic gymnastics) but I truly have no clue what else they'd win in.

I can only think of RG as a lock they have Kanaeva and Dmitrieva I think
and can win Gold and Silver or vice versa, well there is Greco Roman wrestling
but for me Judo and Wrestling are a bit obscure sport for me, not saying all the golds won there are not to be credited still give respect to all medalists
