Yes--I must admit I'm one of those people who watch the sport during the Olympics and then only tidbits here and there the rest of the time. I think that is why I'm so taken with Maroney. I had no idea she could vault like that. I love Komova because she seems so sweet--I can't help but root for her.

Btw---if there are too many ballet instructors in Russia I think we should hire them here to work with our gymnasts. Do any gymnastic facilities in the US have in-house ballet teachers?

It's deleted but basically subtely trashed Komova for pouting and that he could do without seeing it again. All this after being buddy buddy with her when he wanted to trade Olympic pins with her. He needs to learn his place and realize what a hypocritical bad speller he is, I hope we never see him again.

His tweet following UB finals, "Bars finals amazing...The pouting not so much." He later deleted his post. Not sure if he meant Douglas or Komova, but my guess is it was directed at Viktoria.

Ridiculous for a grown man to be kicking on teenage girls. Especially considering the reaction of his own athlete after prelims and Maroney after vault. These girls are human, let them have their moment. :rolleyes:

IMO It's an embarrassment for the US team to have this man spout his mouth off like that. He could learn A LOT from Chow who immediately went up to Mustafina and congratulated her after her win on UB.

I'm just going to pretend Chow, Jenny and Mihai were the only US coaches. :shuffle:

I really hope he's never a national team coach again after his behavior. He's not only embarrassing the team but the American fans as well (or at least I'm embarrassed by him)

Even though I'm a huge homer when it comes to gymnastics, I really do enjoy the other gymnasts and I flove the Russian girls.

Chow and Jenny have been amazing beyond words so far, it's very weird to have such a drastically different group of personalities in this group of coaches. I nominate Chow and Jenny to be Olympic coaches for life! I loved how Jenny was with Jordyn during prelims, so protective just like a mother shielding her from the cameras. They have made everything about the gymnasts well being and dont draw any attention to themselves. So happy for her and Howie who got to experience this with Kyla.

I can't remember if Amanar won any EF medals in Sydney, as I've tried to block that whole event from my mind...if she did, then I can't think of any.

IIRC she won bronze on floor behind Zamo and Khorkina.

Geddert is a tool. There are only two people in gymnastics that provoke such a negative response from me: Bela and Steve Nunno. I thank the stars that twitter and facebook didn't exist when Nunno was around... :shuffle:
