I wonder why NBC is showing this documentary on Olga Korbut. Not that I'm complaining :)

I posted this in another thread

BBC Interview with Olga Korbut (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfFclX8gojM&feature=youtu.be)

I sense she's had a turbulent, crazy, drunken life :P

What the feck? I thought EF was on at 11:30 EST so I just woke up to a nightmare. Maroney falls and loses gold? Zou wins floor? Smith loses gold on a tiebreaker?! Do-over today, please.

It sounds to me like in general Berger was robbed. Paseka's Amanar was underrotated. Then again Berger got into finals with a freaking fall. FAlls on vault need to be higher than falls on every event. I think a fall should cost you at least 1.5 to 2 points.

^Well, I agree. Falls should cost alot more. Vault is one move - it may be a very complex move, but it's one move nonetheless. A fall = fail. Harsh, I know :P

I love Paseka, but I think she's a a tad lucky because that Amanar was :yikes: Then again, Berger is sloppy as well.

Well, I guess all of the US girls need to go home with their share of crushing disappointment. This makes me think Gabby is going to fall apart somewhere in the EFs she's in.
Unless her "glory be to God" statements are actually being listened to and it's been decreed that she will win everything. She may even start tebowing on us.
But congratulations to sandra, I always enjoy watching her.

Well I don't know about that... I will say though Maroney's reactions kind of shows how unfair it is to label just the Russians as divas. She's clearly far more a diva than Mustafina.

I don't think you'll get an argument there. For some of us, it's part of her charm.:rofl:

I am in shock over these results
Poor McKayla, but I have to give major credit to Iszbasa for being mentally strong when others are not. She's awesome - defnitely my favorite Romanian.

They should just double all deductions for vault. Then D-scores would not trump everything else and gymnast would stop diong vaults they have no chance of sticking.
