The vaulter I'm really gutted for is Pena. Surprised by Maroney, but silver is nothing to sneeze at, particularly accompanied by a team gold. Congratulations to all of the medalists!

And now I hope Louis does great on Pommels!

They will remind her of this for the next four years and into retirement. They will remind her children and their children. They truly will haunt her for it. :yikes:

It's very... Bi-polar what they could do.. I bet people will remember her stuck TF vault just as much because not as many are going to be tuned in for EF as TF or AA.

I fear most for Maroney being eclipsed by a team mate for the same spot sticking around four years like Sacramone. Honestly four years from now I predict the vaults Maroney has now would be enough to be in gold contention. I think this is the biggest upset in Olympic history for women's gym, I had a bad feeling earlier because everyone was giving her the title. I was thinking that as well but you always have to land them. Cheng Fei was the class of the field for 3 years just like the US has been, but you can't biff the landings. Trying to stick in vault EF with no one touch is a really big risk. And also potentially really dangerous with the difficulty they expect out of these ladies, I mean Pena's double front is scary enough when she does get a warmup! And with that, I let it go..

Good luck to the guys in PH!:cheer:

NBC didn't waste any time posting Maroney's "failures".

I really like her, but she doesn't stand up her Prod often enough to really make me feel like :wall:. Whenever she does, it's a lovely surprise, but it just doesn't happen that often. Am all for Yamilet staying and developing more consistency, though :D
