Errr...except she hugged Izbasa right after it happened with no hesitation?

Maybe she thinks Russian eyeshadow is contagious.

 To be fair. Izbasa turned her around and completely instigated it. I couldn't care less, just teasing a bit.

Just to add, vaulting on a broken toe and still get a silver medal??? Pretty impressive!?!

Gutted. But loving Izbasa.

Really impressed by Berger!

Now hoping that NBC doesn't bring the drama over the next 4 years

They will remind her of this for the next four years and into retirement. They will remind her children and their children. They truly will haunt her for it. :yikes:

Same here, maybe seeing that Berger can challenge for medals will help Chusy be able to retire more in peace :) She deserves a break.

It's not like we're talking about an excellent event here. It's not like she was overscored. The level was just not particularly high.

True, the field in 2008 was WAY stronger on vault and the great Cheng Fei won bronze with a fall so I am not that surprised. This is one of the weakest vault fields in history and MAroney might be the best vaulter in history.

I admire Izbasa for taking advantage of a great opportunity; not everybody can.

I'd have been a nervous wreck. The Canadian fell! Maroney butt-planted! It's wrong! It's Sydney all over again! But she just stepped up calm and cool and got the job done.

Ok, So I think McKayla will just dust this off and look at it as winning silver :D and work toward Rio.Now hoping that NBC doesn't bring the drama over the next 4 years

Good luck with that. That will start after we hear how wonderful Maroney is that she can land on her ass and still get a silver medal over 3 nights of event finals.

Well, I'm thrilled for Iszbasa.

And really, people were TOO arrogant about giving Maroney gold weeks before the competition even started.

Still, she must be gutted.

Iszbasa :D

Paseka is a BEAUT :glamor:

are you my soulmate? i did think paseka is gorgeous.

really glad because she was so unhappy during russia's team final run.

i really think NBC will be kind to maroney and focus on her injury, how she held back nothing for herself and went all out for the team... just my guess as to how their script will go. kerri strug II?

Blah. And now the reward is Pommel. I'm rooting for Louis, of course, because he's the best but Pommel is not too much fun to watch.

Didn't see it but this vault result actually makes me feel a bit sick. If anything good is to come out if it, it's that Maroney is as angry as hell and stays in another 4 years for another shot in Rio.

Still gutted for McKayla. I would love to see her stick around for another four years and make another Olympic team but the 2008 women showed how hard it is to do that.
