Day Four already!

Daily Mail articles (Yeah, it's a rag but like a car crash and all that!)

All mainly about China's regime of coaching children and yet again referring to drugs being responsible for Ye Shiwen's win

(Just for you Cyn and allezfred, there is a mention and picture of Michelle Smith in second article)

Poor Pete Waterfield  at 'synchronised perving' though - Nothing wrong with that!!

Anyway, there is so much on TV I barely have a clue what's going on - Swimming I suppose! Gymnastics WAG (see! Im in tecknik now!) team final and er... rain I think!

Oh horsey stuff looking at the TV right now....

Fingers crossed for no failed snatches today! :cheer:

Arrest made over abuse of Tom Daley on twitter (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-19059127)

Those articles are actually very decent, given it's the Mail. ;)

It's heartbreaking to think what those kids go through. :(

Ye Shiwen's result does indeed seem really unbelievable. I hope she gets tested thoroughly.

Although it is very likely that Chinese scientists have designed various doping methods which are unknown to the testers. :/

Someone on Fb made a comment about US Men's Volleyball losing, and I was in a momentary panic, thinking he was referring to indoor volleyball.

It may or may not be related to the fact I have a newfound crush on outside hitter Matt Anderson (well ok not really "newfound" - I saw him win the 2008 NCAA playing for Penn State and he was soooo good there too! And pale! ) and really want to see more of him, which would have been dashed had the team been eliminated in the prelims. :shuffle:

Loving the hot pink swimming trunks on some of the guys! Colour! :cheer:

Channel 9 advertised that they were going to show the women's gymnastics tonight. They did that with the men's last night too and we got nada, so I'm not holding out much hope.

Looking forward to the showjumping, although the Aussies have their work cut out now. Didn't catch what else was on other than the BLOODY SWIMMING.

Australian swimming legend and BBC analyst Ian Thorpe adds his view to the Ye Shiwen controversy: "How we should talk about it is that we should take away the nationality. If we had an athlete from Team GB who dropped three seconds we would say 'Wow'. I took five seconds off my time in the 400m freestyle from 15-16. We have to remember young swimmers can take off chunks of time others can't. We should wait. This is what I don't like in sport, when people are successful people say it is because of drugs."

Kitajima only second in his heat of the 200m breaststroke.

Meanwhile William Fox-Pitt is on the course in the three day event showjumping. Loving all the voidy jumps! :D

I suppose he would say that, he was a pretty freaky swimmer after all.

But I think maybe at this point he's hedging his bets. The thing is, you can't just remove nationality in this argument because we're talking about a country that unashamedly doped to the eyeballs in the past.

Looks like it is going to be a shoot-out between GB and Germany for the three day event gold. Zara Phillips up shortly!
