OMG!! Phelps loses in the final touch!! to Le Clos!!!
Revenges keep coming this time, he out touches Cavic in 2008 and here he loses HIS EVENT!! the same way he did to the serbian
not to forget how the USA lost the relay closely to the french
Upset of the games, even bigger than his 4th place at 400 IM

Le Clos is crying. Saying Phelps is his hero and that he didn't expect it.

I wonder if NBC will be as harsh on Missy as they've been on Phelps for not medalng in his first event. My guess is no. They need to build her up a little more before they tear her down.
But they will be going on and on tonight about Phelps being disappointing.

GB eventing team being interviewed. Either William Fox-Pitt is really tall or the rest of the team are short.

Alaaeldin Abouelkassem of Egypt is in the Fencing finals up against a Chinese competitor. It is a mini miracle seeing him at the finals. he becomes the first African as well as the first Arab to reach the finals ( also to medal).
Really tired of this pattern of interviewing: "Congratulations on your medal, you must be really happy! So I'm just going to remind you of every tragedy in your life we can dredge up. How do you feel now?"

:respec: especially given all the recent (and continuing) turmoil in Egypt.

But everybody loves a sob story! :scream:

Another birthday girl, Azarenka, takes out Martinez Sanchez easily to move on to the 3R.
The story of Azarenka being sponsored by Khabibulin to come to America is one of the tennis backstories that I'm officially sick of hearing. Must it be told EVERY time she plays? :P

I thought it was really tacky when Lochte won the gold medal, all the reporters asked about was Phelps missing the podium.
