I'm about 40 minutes behind, so I have not gotten to the :yikes: yet (and by :yikes: , I mean the commentary). I must say, for fluff, I enjoyed the French commentators screaming Allllllllleeezzzzzzzzz!!!!!!!!!!!! And I'm sure they let out a good "now go away Amerikan pig-dogs, or I weeeel taunt you ze second time! (Jettez la vache, jettez la vache! Non, non, pas de vache, pas de vache! Jettez le douch-pop d'Americain! Quoi) Made me want to be French. Or maybe it made me just want to drink wine.

A coworker of mine graduated from FSU (the fake one) and looooaaathes Locthe with the passion of a thousand angry Yuna ubers. Lochte is a Gator from U of F. I knew the results to this race at work (thank you NBC app!) so when I told her not only did Locthe NOT win, he didn't even medal, she let out this squeal of unholy joy.

I told her she had the makings of a skating fan.

once again they are going to show China's weakest performances...

WHAT?!?! NBC already fast-forwarding to rotation 4!? Good grief; this is the most edited event ever!

Oh don't worry, we get to see Zou's overscored HB routine.

Thanks gods we don't have to see those abominally overscored vaults again.

i wonder if nbc is just going to focus on hotness and the better routines then gloss over the end like that time i went to a civil war museum in louisiana

Now, now, we don't speak about The Time of Unpleasantness during the War of Northern Aggression. We don't speak of that--it's vulgar. Like the Pommel Horse and Horton's cheerleader voice.

We got to see a Uke and 2 Brits.

Be grateful.
They could be using this time to talk about Phelps. :P

The night isn't over yet. That might just happen. This is PBC, after all.

the commentary also went from "China hasn't been a contender" to "China is in gold medal position" in like 5 minutes.

I think the coach (es) who decided Orozco should vault in team finals needs a good slap.

Time for Orozco's closeup as he dissolves into tears. C'mon, NBC, show us just how cruel you are!

So by my count we've seen 2/12 of China's gold medal routines so far.

There are no words to describe the extent of NBC's suckiness.

Deplorable coverage aside, I have to say that I am always, so, so amazed by what even the worst gymnasts are capable of. The level of precision, coordination and strength required for this sport is simply mind-boggling. It makes me feel like I'm watching superhuman beings (well, the Americans not so much right now :P)

Well I just peeked at the news. Bet this was very dramatik in real time. In fact the drama went on and on eh.
Is rings still an event? I dont recall seeing any yet in this truly horrid coverage.
