There was a Today segment advertised about Missy getting her first gold and meeting up with her parents after the victory.

They showed a commercial for the today show featuring the eventual gold medallist! Really bad..I didn't really notice since I'd seen it live on Canadian TV already, I had to rewind to see what people were talking about....

 Serves NBC right for this stupid tape delay.

Oh crap, Al is on to wreck gymnastics. :yikes:

Jingoism at its finest starts after the fluff...

Missy Franklin is very mature for 17, wellspoken.

Is it me, or do the US gym costumes look like Spiderman squished by a soccer ball?

Anyone know what else is coming on tonight? Are they showing Men's gymnastics team finals or did they show it already today? I'm wondering whether I should go ahead and look at the results or remain unspoiled.

Gymnastics will be on (if not already - I'm an hour behind). I suggest you look at the results. Then you can make an informed decision as to whether to watch or not.

LOL, NBC just gave the result of the 100m backstroke away.

Twitter is freaking the eff out. I was on full media shut down all day because I couldn't watch swimming. Avoided the internet and twitter and started all conversations with my friends with "don't tell me about swimming." Even if they weren't the sort of people who would even know about swimming.

Thank god I left the room during that commercial break because I'd be dying.

I hope we get to see the hot French guys. At least a little.

i wonder if nbc is just going to focus on hotness and the better routines then gloss over the end like that time i went to a civil war museum in louisiana

NBC loves to show suffering.

We'll see all the embarrassing falls rather than most routines.

The whole petition thing is gonna be a gold mine for them.

I'd love for NBC to surprise though and show the good stuff. Like Ukraine having a great meet.

Nah. Dalton is hot and did well the other night and we barely saw him. NBC seeks out failure and disappointment.

I think I should stop watching now. It's the point when everything goes downhill.
