Uh oh, the US score just went down with Sam. C'mon guys, scores are supposed to build from the first athlete! It was a great start for Daney though!

What happened to Boy? I feel awful for him. He had the same thing happen to him that happened to Wieber. Of course, he didn't finish top 5 in the standings but he is the 2 time World silver medalist in the AA. Are his ankles ok for other events?

I think that is it for team Germany. A 12 already and now Boy who had a disaster from start to end...

What was the rationale for replacing Orozco with Mikulak on floor for the US?

I love Chen Yibing's arms on his dismount. So graceful

I think Mikulak usually scores better than Orozco on floor. Still, with Mikulak's ankle problems, Orozco was probably the safer choice.

Poor US men. After a rough start on one of their better events, they are forced to go to Pommels!

Orozco wasn't replaced by Mikulak. Mikulak was always going to go on floor as he is, on average, better on that event than Orozco and better than Leyva. Obviously he had an error today but I'm sure that wasn't even a hotly debated choice for the US.

Why does Dalton get credit for doing a Hypolito which is a double arabian in the laid out position. He does not use the arabian technique. He is quite clearly doing a double layout half out. It is still very difficult and probably worth the same so it doesn't really matter but even Shannon, who has been amazing, fails to point it out as an arabian.
