Orozco :fragile: :wall: He's in tears after that vault.

Can we send McKayla in to vault for the men?

China with their codewhores on high bar, they do now what the romanians did back when the old code of points, the FIG needs to rework and evaluate the code for high bar, its too way much enphasis on pirouetting high value

Sorry if this a stupid question, but if the pirouetting is worth so much, why don't more gymnasts do more of it? If the answer is that they can't, then maybe it is worth the points it gets. And if the Chinese have worked hard to do it well and get the points, I don't see why that is objectionable, except that big releases are more exciting to watch and seem like they would be harder.

Has any team ever gone from first in quals to last in finals in the Olympics?

Good job for Sam, very high and lot of distance, just a step to the side

I guess the NBC crew will call John after today performance the ´Sacramone´ of the men´s team and how he left them down.

So sad

Zou got a 16.4 for high bar.

Execution means nothing!

Big step to the side for Sam but at least he landed on his feet.

If the US can't get their shit together, I really really really want GB to medal.

Albyazin is the new Nemov for Russia. Someone said of Nemov waaay back when, "a gold medal proformance for a bronze medal". He is one of my new faves.

Some gymnasts excel on pirouetting, others on releases

There has to be a balance in between the value of the elements and not over-focusing in one over the other IMO
