Went back and checked the TV commentary (assuming they know what they are talking about). Mikulak is coming back from 2 broken ankles. One of them got "stung" on the vault on night 1.

Sam has been competing on those ankles all NCAA season, so they can't be too fragile. Hopefully that is a good sign that he and the ankles can make it through London.

Could someone explain something to me pretty please?

Why the Hell is all the focus on the Women? Why do they always get the Prime Time spot and the guys relegated to either NBC Sports Network/the Net/Afternoon Saturday?

I completely and thoroughly enjoyed this afternoon's action so much more than I did last night's Womens event. I think a good part of it was nerves. I'm sure the guys were nervous, but they went for it. Especially on High Bar. That was a treat and a half to watch this afternoon. What a show!!! Also my personal favourite, Rings, didn't disappoint either.

I can't really say the same for the Women last night IMO, as it just seemed so many were either tight or looked downright terrified and in turn...I get there's so much pressure on the Ladies and all that, but...Why!?!

One last thing...What the hell has happened to the US Ladies and the Uneven Bars? Holy crap that surprised me last night. I'm sure the other teams were watching that and rubbing their hands in glee. If that's how the Uneven Bars go for the US in the Team Event in London later this month (IT'S JULY 2012!!!! :D ), that's one heck of an Achilles Heel for the Team.

Ross, Wieber, and Douglas the UB workers and they are fine. Gabby made an uncharacteristic error but still hit a good set overall. Anna Li and Rebecca Bross are the other 2 best bars girls and they weren't shown (or was Becca shown and I missed it?)...instead they showed Mckayla falling and Nastia falling and Raisman's mediocre routine- but none of them are supposed to be competing bars at OLY anyway. I do agree that depth is an issue on this event and hopefully once more of the juniors move up we won't be in such dire straights there anymore. Ohashi, Priessman, and Hundley have nice potential on this event.

He has problems with his ankles. He stunned them on vault on Thursday.

Thanks, as soon as I posted my note, my cable was out, so I didn't get to see the response until just now.

According to NBCOlympics.com (http://www.nbcolympics.com/news-blogs/blog=rounding-off/post/men-anxiously-await-announcement-of-final-three-spots.html), the US Men's Gymnastics Team announcement should be at 10am PT.

Becca was shown. I also wonder if Gabby's issues had something to do with this. (http://www.usatoday.com/sports/olympics/london/gymnastics/story/2012-06-30/gabby-douglas-father-olympic-trials/55945374/1)

I don't get it with the "built-in deductions" business. That was a gorgeous routine.

It is gorgeous, by her Rybalko isn't really close to handstand (even though that's incredibly difficult). The judges are probably taking at least .3-.5 for that alone.

But the ease of her swing is unmatched in the U.S. :swoon: I do think she was a bit underscored with that routine on Friday.
