I'm sure somebody posted this somewhere else by I thought it was cute.

In an interview with Fred Roggin, Jordyn Weiber's mother said Jordan has had a major fan crush on Justin Beiber for a long time. She really wants to meet him.

She could be Mrs. Jordyn Weiber Beiber!

And I've now just discovered that Jordyn Wieber performs her floor exercise to an instrumental of Ruslana's Wild Dances (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10XR67NQcAc). Seriously?

This is the only reason I am rooting for Jorydyn to win the AA.

whatever happened to Nastia getting her FX choreo'd by Travis Wall? Was there ever a clip of it from practice or anything? And is there any way that if Nastia decided to stay another year that she could be an AAer again? (Sorry, I'm really ignorant about gymnastics :o)

She could try to be an AAer again. I dont see the point in that though. She isnt going to be competitive with a 1.5 yurchenko ever again, and the AA field has much more depth than it did in 2008. There arent going to be that many retirements. Wieber will probably retire, especialy if she wins the AA, maybe Mustafina might as well. The other top U.S, Russian, Iordache, all look likely to stay though. More likely she is best to try and come back gangbusters as a beam/bars specialist, maybe even try and do floor again although I think that is unlikely.

Per @USOlympic twitter:

Just announced: @SamuelMikulak, currently third, will only compete on pommel horse at today's final day of men's gym. comp at #SanJose2012

Apparently he's been having issues with his ankles.. I read something yesterday about swelling in both of them.

His Facebook posting today said something about hoping his ankle held up. :(

Total bummer.

I am happy we have a clear top 5 for both men and women. The best teams are very clear, and there is really no second guessing about it. It is terrific and bodes well for both U.S teams they are sending. What is the best the U.S men can hope for. I dont think gold would be realistic for them, the only team with an outside shot to beat China is Japan. Based on Worlds last year I guess they could upset Japan for the silver if they have an amazing event and Japan has problems.

I really wish Marta would just instruct Ross, Raisman, Wieber, and Douglas not to even bother with the Amanars tonight. All of these girls vaults at time scare me (Wieber is landing lock kneed more and more. They are all locks; why risk it? If this is Alexandrov or Belu; that's what they would say.

I bet if there wasn't a guaranteed spot for the winner of the meet, some would do this, but since only one spot is technically guaranteed, the Code of Injury is going to push them to do full difficulty, regardless their standing on the team or not.

Does Mikulak not competing put his spot in jeopardy? I don't follow MAG as closely.

This team is guaranteed... Those four are locks. Maroney is too but she should do the vault that makes her a lock. They will be locks even if they fall all over the place tonight... Gabby and Wieber are are best all arounders. Ross is necessary because she's the only other bar worker capable of being useful elsewhere and nobody wants Douglas on beam in Team Finals. Raisman is necessary for floor/beam. A ten year old child would pick this team.

I just have a really bad feeling about vault though. The event now scares me...

I am pretty sure most 10 year olds would pick Nastia to be on the team regardless of her performance level. But yes I get your point that this team is set to go.

Not ten year olds who watch. Then again there are those who are literally suggesting Price over Ross... But lets just say anyone who looks at the numbers and leave it at that.

Leyva's HB routine is all sorts of brilliant.
